Re: Lunch

Meatloaf sandwich.
The meatloaf was made with turkey, not hamburger.
Lots of ketchup.
Diet Coke w/Lime.

(Peering down at emergency jar of PB in the drawer.)

Re: Lunch

Boar's head turkey
Multigrain bread
Baby spinach
Red onion
Black olives
Pickles
Peppercorn mayo
Raspberry tea
1/2 bag kettle chips

Re: Lunch

Tater tot casserole with sweet potato tots, green beans and sautéed mushrooms, with provolone and a little cheddar.

Re: Lunch

Mixed green salad with cukes, carrots, Thin N Trim Honey Turkey, feta cheese topped with lite red wine vinegar and olive oil dressing. Sugar free Jell-O chocolate pudding. Strawberries and blueberries. And then ruined any health benefit I got from that by getting a hot fudge sundae in our caf as it's Make Your Own Sundae Wednesday.

Re: Lunch

Anna's House in Holland, MI: California omelette (bacon, avocado, tomato, cream cheese) and buttered rye toast. 3 HUGE cups of coffee to drink.

With all the talk about how an avocado a day is good for you... maybe I should eat that more often.

Re: Lunch

Avocado is best when it's turned into guacamole. It pairs well with turkey for a sandwich, but it's best as guacamole ole'.

They're a good source of healthy fat, but I wouldn't eat them more than once or twice a week. The "superfood" thing is overblown, and mostly a marketing gimmick for all forms of produce that have earned that moniker.

Also, if you look at a serving of avocado vs. what people are eating, that super food idea is a complete non-starter. Add to that, if you're the only person eating that avocado, it'll last you a few days. Avocado simply doesn't last that long. You buy it on Day 1, by Day 3 it's turned bad.

Basically, this omelette is the only way I would take avocado.

Two, avocados are 2/$5 at Meijer right now. Not in my budget.

Three, avocados and avocados on toast is basically my generation's symbol of decadence.

Re: Lunch

Nah, our generation's symbol of decadence is either the Grand Mac, or anything involving a fried chicken shell/buns (looking at you Taco Bell and KFC).

Re: Lunch

Surprised how enjoyable lunch was today. Tried the signature creations, or whatever it's called at McDonalds. Pick your type/condiments (I had bbq bacon), pick your meat (grilled chicken), and bun (artisan). Very good for fast food. I'd put the sandwich on par with Red Robin and those types of places.
