Re: Lunch

I am counting down the minutes until my delicious lunch of tater tot casserole (with sweet potato tots, green beans and cremini mushrooms).

Re: Lunch

Went to a local bar by work known for their burgers. I was quite underwhelmed.

Hate it when that happens. Average deli? Still pretty good. Mediocre Chinese? Usually edible if there aren't any glaring problems. "Just OK" pizza? It's good enough for a fix.

Subpar bar burger? One of the worst things on earth.

Re: Lunch

I had some roast beef, peppers, onions and cheese wrap thing at the work cafe, and it was surprisingly very tasty. Probably the best thing I've had from that place, usually the food is mediocre at best.

Re: Lunch

I'll disagree here. Sicily's in Anchorage tastes like Rick Santorum's taint. One of those that's so bad you can taste the flavor that bled over from the box more than the actual pizza.

I said "Just OK" pizza, not "bad" pizza. There's a big difference between, say, the terribleness of Hungry Howie's and the mediocrity of Cottage Inn. ;)

I can deal with subpar burgers as long as they aren't expensive. I ate them for four years in high school. They were truly insipid. Cooked to hell and you could taste the soy. Usually better than the alternative.

I refuse to get even above average Chinese because even if it's above average, it's still only marginally better than dog food. Or dog, whichever.

Re: Lunch

Due to very limited options, Februany. On the plus side, they have my sandwich half-prepared before I walk in the door. That's service. :)

Re: Lunch

Being a regular is always fun. The girl and the coffee shop I used to flirt with every morning was awesome. Basically I'd get free coffee every morning and left with a smile. It was fantastic.

When I moved closer to work, I didn't have a coffee shop that was conveniently located. No more benefits for being a regular... :(

Boo.

Unintended hilarity: one of the workers is bbdl's woman's doppelganger. And was the first to recognize me as a regular. Yes, I have to keep from laughing every time. :D

Re: Lunch

Indeed. THe worst are the days I forget to make coffee and have run out of the Starbucks Via (I typically hate Starbucks and their burnt-to-carbon beans, but Via is infinitely better than---> ) and have to drink the office coffee. Typically Folgers or some other garbage. Oh man, it's like choking down a mug of black dirt.
