LSSU Lakers 2020-21

Sweep! A 2-1 win and nice to get some experience on the road in this weird season. Adrian also got feisty at the end there.

I only saw about half of the game. Lakers looked good the first 5 minutes but after that I didn't think they looked very sharp. Not a lot of cohesion on offense, at least for the part of the game that I did see. But still, a win is a win.

Nice to see the Lakers get the sweep and see Langenegger get some playing time. Great to see Calder continue his hot start but not good having the power-play still struggle.

On the postgame, Damon mentioned if Ferris State isn't able to play UAH on this coming Friday, the Lakers series with the Chargers could get shifted earlier to perhaps a Thursday-Friday series which would get UAH and Ferris a chance to reschedule their game shortly afterwards if that scenario plays out.

I keep thinking as a fan or about finances, but ultimately playing and playing safely is all these kids really want to do. So kudos to the teams for working together to try to get in as many games as they can.

Our goalies getting playing time and their first wins is something that they will always remember, Calder has had some memorable goals, and players will remember getting to ring the bell. These are life moments for them. I’m just along for the ride.

Schedule changes with UAH:

"The Lakers will now host the Chargers on Saturday, Dec. 5 at 5:00 p.m. and Sunday Dec.6 at 3:00 p.m. at the Taffy Abel Arena in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. The series was originally scheduled to be played on Sunday, Dec.6 and Monday, Dec. 7."

UAH will now play at Ferris on Tuesday, Dec 8 instead of Friday, Dec 4 (original schedule). That's assuming Ferris will be over their Covid protocols by then.

Sounds like Damon wasn't too happy with last night's 2-2 tie game. We should probably expect some lineup changes for today's game.
The Lakers had a bad second period and the powerplay has been a big disappointment.

That said, they are still undefeated in this crazy season so there have been more positives than negatives so far.

I was away from home most of the day and only heard the last part of his post-game interview, but yeah he wasn't too happy. The Lakers should beat UAH at home, but the Chargers almost always play hard and you have to play well to beat them. You can't just show up and expect to win.

Nice to see the Lakers end the calendar year with a win and a 4-0-2 record. Also finished the 2020 calendar year with a pretty good 12-6-5 record. Hoping the Lakers come back from the holiday break healthy and Covid free.
