I haven't heard anything. We should be due for another Laker Hockey Talk show, probably next Thursday (16th). On the last show, Damon said he was hoping to hire someone by around mid-August. He said there was a lot of interest in the position even back then in mid-July. I suspect by next week's show, he'll either have the name of the new assistant or at least give us a progress report if he hasn't hired someone yet.

Talked to Damon yesterday. Sounds like they have extended an offer to someone, but no hints were given.

They had something like 30-40 people reach out x they skyped around half of that, and had three on campus over the last week or so.

He indicated that there is a chance an announcement may be made this week, expect it to be next week.

Seems odd the USCHO hockey site did not run a story on the Lakers new assistant coach.

We are getting down to the starting line of a new season but the thought of winter coming with it makes me sick .

We've got Fall first. Perhaps the nicest time of the year, at least the first half of it. Captains practices should be starting soon if they haven't already.

I know it is early but I believe the Lakers will be picked to finish 8th , 9th,or 10th .

Looks fairly similar to the end of the last regular season, other than flipping BG & Minn St. I think Anchorage will occupy the bottom, with LSSU & Fairbanks battling for the last playoff spot. Ferris & Huntsville are two teams that could rise or slip depending on how the bounces go. I’d likely have Tech in home ice and think they, Bemidji & Minn St could all make their way higher or fall lower as they all have questions between the pipes.
