Zach Trotman has signed a one year contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins and Buddy Robinson has signed a two year contract with the Calgary Flames.

Good for them . It is always a plus to see former Lakers making the big leagues .

I think so. Probably the 19th-20th unless they move the Ni****ing series. I think there is a Laker Hockey Talk show tomorrow so we should hear something official then.

Probably too early to tell. Depends upon who puts in for the job. If they've known about this internally for a while, maybe the replacement process has already proceeded a ways. We'll probably hear more about it on the Laker Hockey Talk show tomorrow. I'll have to catch the podcast when it's up since I won't be able to listen to the show in the morning. Mike York may get moved up to the #1 assistant (to replace Rich) and then they'll have to fill behind Mike. We'll see.

It should be an interesting LHT show tomorrow. I'm not so sure the Denver series is still on. No doubt that both Rich Metro and Denver will be discussed on the show. Hopefully the podcast will be up fairly quick.

It was nice to hear Damon say that there has already been a lot of interest shown in the vacant assistant coach position even before they've had a chance to officially post it. Sources include other Div 1 assistants, Div 3, juniors, and even pro. Damon said he wanted someone with recruiting experience. He's hoping to have a new assistant coach in place by mid-August.

The Lakers have received a commitment from D-man Brendan Hill from Detroit Catholic Central. 2001 birth date. Not sure yet where he'll be playing Junior hockey this coming season.
