LSSU Lakers 2016 off-season thread

Re: LSSU Lakers 2016 off-season thread

To be honest about the level of play in the SPHL, most WCHA teams are better than most SPHL teams.

Our captain from last year was a high-scoring SPHL player this year. I think that SP stands for Somewhat Professional.

5 goals in 4 yrs at UAH, 17 at Knoxville this year? I'd take Chargers over Havoc in 5 in a best of 7, 6 if Genoe gets hot. One of our 4th/5th liners had 10 points in 4 yrs, around 85 CCHA/WCHA games. Had 13 in 27 games last year in Knoxville.

Doug had also been gone from hockey for about eight months.

Lake State commit Robert Blueger named one of Latvia's three best players at U18s. He wins a Tissot watch for the honor.

Nice to see future Lakers doing good things and getting some props.

Laker fans, we sent some UP love to the Pullar last year, please send some to Marquette's Lakeview Arena in the final 2 of KraftHockeyville USA! Vote by texting "Lakeview" to 35350 (max of 50 per day) or by voting online at KraftHockeyville.com (50x for each email address). Thanks for your help and we'll see you in the fall!

I will vote but sadly Marquette will probably not win. The city they are up against is much larger than Marquette but you never know. Good luck!

A lot of votes will help from the LP of Michigan. Mickey Redmond announced during Red Wings broadcast to vote for Lakeview in the UP. May get help in votes from the large population down there.

Jeff Blashill, John Keating & Justin Abdelkader all Tweeted it out.

Guess again! Thanks so much to all who cast their votes. We couldn't have done it without you!

Thank you davyd83 and congratulations. It will be nice to see Lakeview to get some of the much needed renovations. It's kind of a bummer though that the Red Wings won't play the preseason game at Marquette. Still a preseason game there is better than nothing.

Jimmy Dowd Jr was selected by Omaha in the 4th round of the USHL Phase 1 Draft (00 birth dates) last night. It would be nice if we could land him as a future recruit. Maybe his dad could help steer him our way. :-)

In Phase 2 of the USHL Draft today, Lakers commit Chase Pilawski was selected by Waterloo and Lakers commit Dustin Manz was selected by Sioux City. Both have previously signed tenders with Aston of the NAHL for next season, but potentially they could wind up in the USHL instead.

Re: LSSU Lakers 2016 off-season thread

An update on the release of the schedule. It should be out late next week according to the WCHA in a Tweet that they sent me.

Sounds good. Thank you for checking.

In the deciding game of a USHL semifinal series last night, Tri-City defeated Waterloo 5-3. Max Humitz had a goal for Tri-City and Collin Saccoman had a goal for Waterloo.
