Perhaps the WCHA needs to work on better marketing its tournament. First off, perhaps you shouldn't have a "Final Five" consisting of 4 teams.

Very nice win for the Lakers tonight. It looks like we play at Mankato next weekend. Not the match-up we were looking for, especially since the Mavericks will be mad from losing the #1 spot in the standings on the last night of the regular season. We're going to have to play really well to stay in the games with them. If we can win either of the first two games, who knows what can happen in the third. :)

The Lakers finished this WCHA regular season with 10 more points than they had last season. That's a huge improvement. Way to go guys!

The 7th place finish is the highest they have finished in their conference standings since 2011-12, when they also finsished 7th. 6th place hasn't been reached since 2005-06.

It was definitely nice to see the Lakers finally win at Ferris for the first time since 2008. This team has definitely improved over last season. So far, the Lakers have won five more games and moved up two spots in the WCHA standings. Next weekend will be a huge task going to Mankato but it can be done if Gordie can continue his very strong play as of late. Jeff Jakaitis did it against Miami in 2007 when we were big underdogs.

There goes watching the the Lakers at Bowling Green with MN State losing last night. Good win and a very tough series coming up but much better to see them play MN. State than not making the playoffs at all . Arizona should be announcing the league they are going to be joining soon and let us hope it is not the WCHA. That's all we need is another 2000 mile journey to play a league member.

I think you underestimate how many crummy shots Ferris takes.

100% of the shots you don't take don't go in as the great one said. I watched ferris put one shot on net with some traffic around the net but no more shots and got credited with 3 shots. I agree with a previous comment on here wouldn't you think they would want to pad their own goalie stats. Not very smart.

I seen the average home attendance was 1,918 which is up from 1,897 last season and 1,809 from 2013-14. Hopefully the upward trend continues. Having Michigan State play at Abel Arena next season should help.

Maybe we can suggest "Final Four"? I'm not sure if anyone's using that one. Or how about a cute twist, we can call it the "Frozen Four". I can't believe no one came up with these solutions before.

Or how about this - a surprise team gets invited as the fifth. I'll suggest that this year should be Wayne State, since they're just 2+ hours down I-96. I don't believe they're busy that weekend. :D

Why not have two teams play one team at the same time and the team with the fewer scorers doesn't play in the final four. But we all know for this to work they would have to play on the larger ice sheets .

Good suggestions!! Perhaps since the WCHA doesn't get much respect, they could call it the Forgotten Four.

While we're on that subject, anyone heading to Grand Rapids next weekend? I'm likely going but then I have the advantage of being only about an hour drive from Van Andel.

What a joke that Gage Torrel wasn't part of the WCHA All Rookie team. I am sure Crawford will be harping about this.
Edit: Hults might be the one that got gypped as he made more league points than Torrel.

However, congratulations to Gordie for being named to All-WCHA Third team.
