If not, then probably the report of Roque not back next season is false. I'm not getting excited yet after what happened last year when there was an article that Roque was leaving to become an assistant coach at Buffalo.

If this is true :) they need to interject new blood into the program.

The program must let Roque go to have any chance of a turn-around. I've been told by a very knowledgeable person that finances are near a breaking point and the hockey end of operations incurred massive losses this year. They anticipated that fan generated revenues would drop this year but not to the extent that it has....the program has become unsustainable in its current predicament. Fan apathy is at an all time high....student support is scant and if changes are not made and quickly our worst fears may materialize.
I called a couple of people supposedly in the know about whether Roques firing was true, one said he didn't hear a thing about it and the other one still hasn't gotten back to me....so I'm not holding my breath that this is true.

Because a guy that won nearly twice as much got canned? The move was overdue. But if the financial woes from an earlier are true, don't expect the resources to attract a proven winner and a pair of rock solid full time assistants. Your not going to even get WalMart quality when your pocketbook shops at St Vinnie's. Our best shot would appear to be Fogarty, maybe Shawhan or Damon Whitten, but is bringing in guys from programs with similar records to us and giving them even less to work with the answer? Here's to hoping we treat this like a D-I program for a change. If we don't, it will give Huntsville a reason for optimism.

It looks like the "The Back to the Attack" program will have to be used to cover losses. I was hoping it would be used to get a top name head coach to replace Roque.

A DIII guy on the way up looking to get his foot in the DI door. Salary shouldn't be too different.
A DI assistant looking for his first head coaching job might look at the salary as a stepping stone.
Whoever it is when he does good he's gone to greener pastures and you try to do it again.
Sounds as if the alternative is an alum who has done extremely well financially.
