Comely is the committee. He went through the applications and when saw Joeys he shredded it.

I believe Comley has even went through Colorado College applications as well for Ken Ralph he went from 60 to 10 four days ago.

He is amazing.

Shawhan's application was forwarded. Comley didn't "shred" it.

Re: LSSU Lakers 2014 off season thread

He's the one of the nine members with any kind of hockey experience.

Do you know Comley? I am sure Comley is in charge of the hiring. No one is going to tell him, no.
Really? Because the committee did forward Shawhan's application on up the ladder, and they said no. That sure doesn't sound like being in charge of the hiring.

You stated Comley was in charge of the committee and that he shredded Joe's application. Yet neither of those is fact.

I know him quite well. LSSU is very fortunate to have him on the committee. He is one of the best men in the game.

Comley is the "committee" and will handpick his guy.

How many people on the "committee" are actually from the Soo?

Jim Roque should get another look!

Re: LSSU Lakers 2014 off season thread

It's tough to speculate on who the professional candidate may be, but as far as Whitten, the Providence assistant, and Fogarty are concerned, one point of optimism for any of them getting the job is as far as motivation is concerned; all would be getting their crack at their first head coaching job at this level, and that would obviously be a tremendous opportunity. That being the case one would think that a coach who is hungry, and eager to prove himself in that position would bode well for the Lakers which is something that I'd argue was lacking in the past few years, where JR didn't appear to be interested in career advancement and seemed quite comfortable being entrenched at LSSU, and I would argue that element of being more or less "comfortable" was a detriment. Clearly, it's going to take an awful lot more than wanting to succeed to get the job done, and both Borek and Roque came into this job as first time head coaches, but that doesn't mean that having the "fire" won't help the next Laker coach if is indeed a first-timer

Besides Comley, McLain, Dunbar, and Coates, men's basketball coach Steve Hettinga, former Laker Jason Trzcinski, LSSU foundation Board of Directors member Larry Westby, LSSU professorBrian Snyder, and Blue Liners representative Pete Scornaiencki.

Colorado College will not confirm their top 10 finalist. or release the names of the search committee.

The Colorado College committe is made up of Ken Ralph AD, hockey alumni, current students, school trustee, athletic department employee, and a CC faculty member.

Plus they have no deadline on applying for the job. Which would leave it open for coaches with Pro experience.

CC is doing it right on pursuing their next coach. They don't want to make a mistake and they have a ton of local involvement. CC is a lot smaller then the Lakers.

Re: LSSU Lakers 2014 off season thread

I remember reading a few posts on this board not too long ago citing some issue with Shawhan not having a bachelor's degree when he was with Lake State before, and misrepresenting himself. Maybe that's the reason he wasn't given an interview. Can anyone speak to this theory? Maybe DM2SM knows.

Yes I can and you or your husband have two days to straighten this **** out with the truth or I will come on here and do it myself. You know how to reach me but in case you forgot it's

Re: LSSU Lakers 2014 off season thread

It's sad how Comley and the Coffee Club Good Ole' Boys up in that little village and college, and have once again reared their ugly heads, this time against a great coach and a man of class, like the gentleman listed above, who I have seen first hand coach kids to greatness.

You don't want any part of that mess up there Mr. Shawhan, it is a sinking ship that will port in D3 very soon.
