LSSU Lakers 2014-15

Re: LSSU Lakers 2014-15

Also sounds like talk of a Blue vs Gold exhibition game on January 31st at the Pullar, likely for a charitable cause. It is nice to see the team doing something along those lines.

That should be really neat. Also Whitten said on tonight's show that the Lakers will play in the Catamount Cup next season January 1-2. I believe the Lakers will be in two holiday tournaments next season, the other being Notre Dame's Shillelagh Tournament Thanksgiving weekend. Nice to see the Lakers getting in more holiday tournaments after hardly being in any the previous five years.

What was his injury ?

It was a suspension. It was reported that he had a lot of hoops to jump through to get back in good standing so I'm glad to hear he didn't just take the easy way out and worked hard. It was not released what the infractions were.

Legal trouble. Assault on another student. I believe he's potentially broken more than just team rules. Laws in fact. Don't expect to see him back with the team at all.

I heard it was serious just not the specifics. He is back with the team now though. Like I said he must have done what was asked or ordered of him to do.

Re: LSSU Lakers 2014-15

Recruiting is pretty much slowing down, as it obviously must, at least in terms of commitments. Quite a few guys in the pipeline now. The coaches are going to be looking at younger guys for the 2016-17 season and beyond. At this point, my best guess for next season is that we'll see 5 or 6 new forwards, 1 new D (maybe 2 depending upon how quickly Headrick recovers from surgery), and obviously 1 new goalie.

Obviously, all of them aren't for 2015-16, but hasn't there been a LOT more commitments than 6-8 guys for next fall?

There are 18 total commitments for 2015-16 and beyond. That's including Roque recruits Hans Gorowsky and Will Gauthier, although someone posted a while back that Gorowsky may no longer be in the mix.

Re: LSSU Lakers 2014-15

Scott Patterson is out indefinitely with an upper body injury. Daniel Vernace to replace him in the lineup tonight.

Is anyone watching this game tonight? It sure sounds like the officials are only seeing blue.
A couple questionable ones, but I think the penalties in the 3rd had a lot to do with MSU's speed finally wearing down LSSU. But LSSU outworked us, won the majority of the 50-50 pucks, and showed great fight with the two immediate bounce back goals. Definitely not the same team we handled back in November
