Re: LSSU Laker Hockey
Still waiting for the podcast to get up so we can hear from the coach about last weekend and the upcoming series against Northern. I see part of last weeks show didn't get recorded and I wonder if he addressed the situation there? I hope Coach Roque also addressed it this week and put to rest that silly incident a few weeks ago where that linesman threatened him and he had to call the police. Personally I am tired of the vitriol on here.
Last time I listened to the show on the radio (not internet) I managed to save it on file and would have been able to share it right after. It would have taken much longer if I had to cut and paste the whole thing and have it cleaned up to the satisfaction of my guest, and might have dropped it.
Your intellect is obviously way above any one else on this thread. I feel privileged that you actually responded to one of my posts. I've always admired those types that try to wow the intellectually inferior with their stunning grasp of the English language. It is an honor and a privilege to be able to marvel at your beautiful sentence structure. I am also in awe of the large words you use. Please do not let anyone get you down by saying your pretentious. OMG I just used one of them big words!
Come on Boot_Jim_Roque; you've been cool lately. I don't mind people making an effort with their English; I see it a sign of respect.
Righteous indignation aside, I infer from your posts that you believe Coach Roque should be fired. I suspect this is more due to the disappointing on ice performance of the team, rather than Coach Roque's behavior. If this is the case, go ahead and be forthright, rather than offering more rhetorical questions. I think there is plenty of data to support that position.
Why don't you be forthright ?
I don't want the coach being fired, in so far as he walks the talk and does a proper job as a coach (i.e instructor). I just happen to beleive that he can't, and that's why I am not disappointed by the team's performance because I don't see how it could be any different.
Unless yo give no credit at all to what is being said on this forum or in the media (for many years), or are stuck in a blind loyalty to the coach, there should be enough stuff to wonder whether it is different below the tip of the iceberg, especially since it is so secret.
Rhetorical questions is my way to respect your judgment, and ask for factual contradiction. I am not asserting anything, although I am pretty sure myself.
I appeal to your intelligence, and hope you don't come to the same evidence because I'd rather be wrong. I expect you to tell me why and that's what you haven't.
He owes no one an apology. He is responsible to his team and his boss, Ms. Dunbar.
I agree that only Dunbar CAN take action, and I can't see how he wouldn't. But that doesn't mean that nobody else has been harmed. It is very likely that the coach exposed himself to some sort of retaliation by the officials, thereby exposing the team and the players, not to mention the model he is supposed to be. Apologies to the league and officials would help mitigate such consequences, and expressing some regrets would have helped the image.
You do not seem to consider his own words as "very unusual", or maybe you are just embarrassed.
