Lain go pro ? Where is he hoping to play with no NHL agreement in site. It's to bad the Lakers lost a few to the NHL this season with no NHL season playing.

Sm2pk the lockout hasn't stopped a bunch of former Lakers from suiting up in the AHL, which is likely where they all would be playing even in the NHL was playing, except for Gysbers, who was set to join the Maple Leafs blue line. If Lain does end up going pro it's not like they would start him out in the NHL, he would surely have to prove himself at the AHL level first anyways, so for that reason the threat of him leaving hasn't diminished just because the NHL is locked out.

Re: LSSU Laker Hockey 2012-2013, Part 2

The AHL is going to get top heavy with no place to send players that normally would be getting sent up . Why add a player to a team if that team has nowhere to send players playing for it now.

I wonder if the Lakers will ever be in the GLI again? Only three times I believe the Lakers have been in it (1977, 1996, 1999).

Perhaps they will although their image has faded considerably over the past 15 years. It might help if they put better teams on the ice. Even then they're not a big draw; the GLI probably prefers someone with a bigger name or at least someone who will likely draw more fans.

Anyone heard for sure if Campbell will be back playing tonight?

From what I heard from the podcast hosted by Paul VanWagoner, he will be still be out this weekend. He still needs medical clearance from his doctor, but Roque said he should back practicing next week. He could play in the WMU series depending on how Campbell feels.

Also LSSU will play at Union next season in October.

Re: LSSU Laker Hockey 2012-2013, Part 2

A very solid weekend indeed for the Lakers. Union sure is a heck of a team, it took a dedicated team defense and strong goaltending to beat them.

Besides Dommett I have to give a big shout out to Sternberg he has come a long ways. Keep it up guys.

Re: LSSU Laker Hockey 2012-2013, Part 2

Excellent defense, PK and two goalies playing really well right now. Sure hope that carries over to WMU

U.P hockey on fire right now. Combined 6-0 the last six games.

Lakers now 20th in the PWR. I wonder where they would be ranked had they not lost that Friday game to UAH?

Has anyone seen Truth Squad...Serum... or what the H#LL Nick Seller's Dad on here lately? I miss his mindless ramblings about truth justice and the American way... oh wait that was not him... Oh well Happy new Year Laker fans...

Re: LSSU Laker Hockey 2012-2013, Part 2

What a nice, complete weekend of Laker Hockey. With the injury bug passing, and all four lines stepping up and contributing nice plays and a few timely goals, this team is coming together.

Those games against Union are huge -- as this was not a sloppy Union team and, in the end, Union will certainly be fighting for an ECAC title and an NCAA birth. The Lakers REALLY needed this sweep -- it sets the year off on a great perfect tone . . . and it does indeed help the PWR.

Re: LSSU Laker Hockey 2012-2013, Part 2

Seems the two goalie system is working to the max and going to one goalie would be a bad way to to go back to now. Roque had mentioned in passing he is still seeing if one goalie rises to the top and until then, he will continue with the two for now.

Re: LSSU Laker Hockey 2012-2013, Part 2

I agree that Murdoch seems to be playing a bit better. the real issue is that they are both playing outstanding each night they play and if it ain't broken , don't fix it.
