He gets to see the Laker players pretty much every game, other than Alaska trips, whereas he only gets to see their opponents 2-4 times per season.Bill Crawford,is always criticizing LSSU Players ,always pointing out the weakness in LSSU Players and never criticizing the other teams the way he Criticizes LSSU

He can be a bit of a Negative Nellie, but he does know the team and the game well. He also knows that the Lakers have seen better talent. No offense to the current guys who played their butts off this weekend.
...And he can flat-out call a game, he is as good anyone I have ever heard.

I think he's actually toned it down a bit the past couple of seasons. I think Roque thought he was being too critical at times and there was probably some friction there. Yes, Bill calls a great Lakers game. He doesn't normally make the trip to Alaska, at least not any more. He may have in the past. Yeah I am never awake for those games at UAF. I would not know. LOL

I am told by several students that part of the influx to the game is the freshman. They came out in force for a change. Maybe because their all from downstate and MSU fans from their peewee days. Any thoughts on why attendance was so high? I wouldn't think it was the Spartie fans as they were all watching football this weekend.

First off, GREAT WIN! It's great to hear that the freshmen are playing well and some guys have stepped up to replace the scoring we lost.
The Saturday game of Great Lake State weekend always has a huge crowd, no matter who we are playing. I think that there are lots of ticket giveaways that weekend and maybe a lot of perspective students on campus. If you look back through the years you will see 2,700-2,900 fans at random games like AIC and Canisius on GLSW. The fact that it was MSU probably brought out another 600-800 folks. For years I've wondered why they have had GLSW on non conference (or even exhibition) weekends. I always thought that they should do it this way and pack the house for a meaningful conference game.

Great sweep for the team this weekend and it was really nice to see so few empty seats during the game. I was looking forward to the radio show tonight to bad the station can't get their act together and stream it on line.

Couldn't hurt. The station is aware of the problem. Fixing it just doesn't seem to be much of a priority for them. I think this is the last season of their current contract for broadcasting Laker hockey. Maybe someone else will get the contract next season and will put more effort and money into doing things right.Does it do any good to call and complain?

I guess it doesn't matter to those that live in the Sault, or at that radio station, but I know quite a few alumni that are out of town that like to tune in from time to time, and are getting tired of the same old song and dance. Maybe I will contact the University instead. They should be made aware of this persistent problem. Maybe one of the other stations will give the Lakers better coverage.
The Lakers are 4-0 for the first time in many years. A possible 6-0 start with a sweep of B.G? Possible and it looks like Coach Roque has some good recruits and has the boys playing well.

Not to much to hope for there because the same company owns all the radio stations the eastern up let alone town. Try emailing the University. My wife or I would call every week to get them to put it up on podcast last year. They have no compition so we are at their mercy.

YesFM and RadioSoo are not owned by the same companies, are they?

They can't take BG too lightly, but if they play well both nights they could get a sweep. They struggled to score against them last December when BG was in the Soo, so let's hope that changes this season.
