Re: LSSU hockey 2013-14

And that figure won't even include all the bonuses and perks he's eventually going to get, plus increased salaries for his assistants, and a bigger travel & recruiting budget.

Gwoz is holding out for a big name university. It's why he was a finalist for the UConn job, but there are no rumors of Maine, a program with a strong history and tradition, even chatting with him.

Look for him to sit out a year and possibly land at Wisconsin when Eaves is canned after another slightly above average year and dwindling attendance numbers.

Re: LSSU hockey 2013-14

If Roque shuffles off to Buffalo; I think Ron Fogarty from Adrian College should be looked at closely.

Re: LSSU hockey 2013-14

As totally ridiculous as it seems, maybe Roque's buddy is going to hire him in Buffalo. We see on here and up there how loyal his buddies and apologists are. Could this be why Jimbo's "unnamed donor" friend has gone into hiding and pulled the plug?

I hope the rumors are true and he is gone so more kids up there get a fair shake if they, or a parent, or a fan, or anyone dare challenge this man on something they see as wrong.

The Truth Is Out There...

My thought is: He is gone. They are all just hammering out money details and contract issues with LSSU. The news broke before all the parties were ready to announce.

Since both coaches are LSSU products, I suspect they may be making sure that if and when Coach Roque leaves for Buffalo, LSSU has a new coach in place so it doesn't damage the program.

Re: LSSU hockey 2013-14

The suspense over Roque and the Norris Center Project is killing me. This off season certainly has been very eventful.

I wonder when the CCHA website will be shutdown?

Re: LSSU hockey 2013-14

July is supposed to be the big month for Norris Center Project upgrades. Let's see what happens then.

So you think they can build a new atrium in a month? Me thinks that July is going to come and go with nothing being done....let us all hope and pray that July also takes Roque with it!

Re: LSSU hockey 2013-14

Maybe when we were told Roque cleared July of all activities , that was meant that he would be cleared out .

All I heard is that July is supposed to be the month they hit it hot and heavy. That doesn't necessarily mean everything will be completed in that single month, at least I didn't interpret it that way.

Lake Superior State would be dealt a huge blow if Jim Roque leaves to coach pro hockey. I can't blame Buffalo's new coach for wanting Jim. His success and where he has lead your program up there for 8 years speaks for itself. His dealing with players, parents, other teams and the community is one that is second to none. A true gentleman!!

Point is what can be completed in a month? Certainly not much concerning major renovations.

So negative.

Maybe the new atrium isn't ready to be built this year. So what?
Maybe it is. I don't really see anyone on this board whose name or tag line says: "LSSU Representative."
Maybe there are other considerations.
Maybe there are other items which need the money first?
Who knows?

Negative....oh yes because there is sooooo much to be positive about the state of this program.....lots of maybes...always lots of maybes...should halves and wishes under Roque's watchful eye....sorry about being so "blue" there Lakerblue but the skies over laker land are anything but blue!

Re: LSSU hockey 2013-14

Well sound Jim Roque was on vacation in Buffalo visting Ron Rolston and congratulating him on getting the HC job with the Sabers.

Time to move on this puts halt to Jim going to Buffalo. It is to bad this spilled out if wasnt true. I would hope LSSU Lakers would have a press conference, so they can inform the timeline of the project that hopefully takes place. Time for Doug Weight to donate again to save the program from a downward spiral.

LSSU has a rich tradition and I would hope it would be preserved whether they accomplished it in D2 or D1.
