Lowell @ PC: The Alliance on hold (11/24)

Re: Lowell @ PC: The Alliance on hold (11/24)

Second period was pretty much all PC. UML needs to quickly re-establish control of game to have a chance.

Re: Lowell @ PC: The Alliance on hold (11/24)

poor penalty killing, inability to finish, and no effort besides the top line is not what you'd call a recipe for success

Re: Lowell @ PC: The Alliance on hold (11/24)

Monty- ummm.... I'm as shocked as you are.

Re: Lowell @ PC: The Alliance on hold (11/24)

And we finally beat Vermont (in basketball)

What a lovely evening!

Re: Lowell @ PC: The Alliance on hold (11/24)

The Friars are going to win tonight by a score of 3-2 and Jon will be proven correct.
After the game there will be a freezing over of Hell and cats and dogs will live in peace ever more. I have spoken. You can bank on it!:p

Can we expect the freezing of Hell, or by them winning 4-2 change that :D

Re: Lowell @ PC: The Alliance on hold (11/24)

Congrats to the Friars on a nice win. Lowell had their chances but they just couldn't connect.

Re: Lowell @ PC: The Alliance on hold (11/24)

The big problem is that now Army is going to think that shooting at the puck willy-nilly is a winning strategy. Bob Ellis had no idea how PC intended to score with that kind of offense. And neither do I.

I thought that has always been his strategy? Either way it paid off. Nice win for PC.

Nothing is ever good enough for someone like him. If you look in the mirror and hate yourself and know for a fact that you are a loser, you tend to be negative towards everyone else.

Great win by a program on the rise with some great young talent.

Yet you somehow come up with this.

It's amazing how much your reading comprehension is awful.
It's also quite amazing how little you know about PC hockey or myself.

You are the greatest USCHO poster ever. Never change and certainly never stop.

Re: Lowell @ PC: The Alliance on hold (11/24)

Nice win bt the Friars. UML is a strong team that I have no doubt will go far this year.
I think that UML really controlled the action in the first period. The Friars got some timely goals last night which have been in short supply, especially last season. They even scored a power play goal last night no less. :D

I enjoyed seeing all the UML fans at the game. I was able to say hi to just a few and would have liked to have met more. Unfortunately, I had a BC fan with me and we would have had to talk much slower so he could keep up with the conversation so it would have been a bummer. ;)

The Alliance is back on until next time and I wish your team the best.

I missed the 1st 7 minutes of the 1st period (did the game start at 6:55 or did they go 7 minutes without a whistle???). But, I was happy with the play of Lowell for the rest of the period. Their goal was the end result of some dogged determination and it was good to see Auger ("Oh-jhay") score another. It was no where near as pretty as his two on Sat. (he did get two, didn't he? ... heard something about the PP blast going off someone's leg).

But, as the period winded down ... I was really left thinking this wasn't the team that beat Merrimack so handily. Saturday night's play was so crisp and brilliant and Auger really, really earned his 1st-star with excellent play all over the ice. But, Lowell wasn't nearly as crisp ... and that really showed in the 2nd and 3rd. I was very impressed with PC ... strong determination ... solid checking ... and excellent zone play. Three goals were all sharp albeit the result of some breakdowns ... some Lowell shifts were really suspect. Was this the case of PC being really up for this game ... where were the fans? That rink is usually loaded with the best looking college babes in Hockey East, by far.

Well, Lowell needs to destroy Maine this weekend to regain their stature and confidence ... then they'll have a decent shot for the next weekend at UMass
and home for UNH.

Congrats to my 7-year old on his first Lowell road trip ... really enjoyed the "on the glass" seating at Schneider .... I really see him turning a corner as far as actually enjoying the game on the ice as opposed to people watching ... we're the duo that had the lucky fan seats Sat. night at Tsongas and won the Athenian Corner gift cert.. Is that place any good?

Great win for the Friars!
Good job!

You guys might complain about the idiocy of the "rivalry" but getting props from UVM fans when we beat UML and props from UML fans when we beat UVM almost triples our fanbase.
