LOST Season 6 -- All Good Things Must Come To An End

Re: LOST Season 6 -- All Good Things Must Come To An End

I also thought having yet another hidden group of people on the island at this late date, with all that has happened, seemed a bit 24ish.

They've always made reference to this group of people (the others), as well as the temple. We knew the children and that flight attendant lady (I can't remember her name) had to be somewhere with the others, I always anticipated seeing the bigger group at some point..

I didn't expect to see a samaurai dude leading the way :D

Re: LOST Season 6 -- All Good Things Must Come To An End

Whatever, you know that there will be some kind of cliffhanger that we will never know the answer to at the end of this series!
Come on, if they do that, people will howl even louder than what they did at the end of the Sopranos where the screen just went blank after Don't Stop Believin!!

Exactly. Ambiguity is profundity for the masses. :p

The producers have repeatedly stated they will have a resolution to the story at the end. No cliffhangers, no blank screens. Not that they will answer avery single little question, but the story will have a definite ending.

I read something yesterday (maybe it was here, and if so I apologize for repeating) where the producers said that they might not answer every question that obsessive fans will have, but they will answer every question the characters on the show would reasonably have had.

Oh, and I figured out where I recognized the not-quite-translator from: It's John Hawkes, who's been in (among other things) the excellent HBO series "Deadwood" and "Eastbound and Down".

But look at how much publicity they got for that. The Sopranos was a legendary show before that last episode, but the ending just added to it's legend, in my opinion.

Yeah, I saw that, but like jmh said, its the questions the characters have, I'm sure that we will still be here trying to figure stuff out after that series finale...

Re: LOST Season 6 -- All Good Things Must Come To An End

The end will be Tommy Westphall's snow globe, right?

Or perhaps, Jack will wake up next to Suzanne Pleshette.

Kate and Patrick Dufy in the shower!?

:)

Re: LOST Season 6 -- All Good Things Must Come To An End

I'm not sure I like the flash sideways. It diminishes the angst when one of the losties is in peril. "It's okay if this Kate dies, the one in LA will be okay." Unless that isn't the case. And where are Rose and Bernard in the island reality?

A pile of bones in a cave.

Looking very Dennis Hopper Apocalypse Now as well.

Wouldn't it be awesome if it ended up that way? Maybe "the monster" or as everyone here at my work likes to call him "Johnny Cash" since he is the man in black, really is Tommy Westphall ;)

Also, if anyone noticed, in the scene where Kate gets in to Claire's cab, she is standing behind Hurley waiting in line. Hurley mentions on the phone something about a "Naomi," who was the flight attendant, and the woman on Faraday's team......was that customs agent Anna Lucia, Sun seemed to pause before answering "no English" to her.

She pauses because she is trying to decide if you she should admit she understands english or play dumb...remember how long she pretended on the island?

Re: LOST Season 6 -- All Good Things Must Come To An End

I'm not sure if anyone has brought this up yet, but I'll throw in my theory of the week:

Sayid is now Jacob.

Evidence:

We know that on several occasions, and most notably young Ben, people have been brought to the temple to be healed when they are dead, or close to it. We can seen in this episode that After the death of Jacob, the spring is red/dirty. We see it's healing properties don't work after Fumanchu guy cuts his hand. Yet, Sayid appears to be healed/ressurected after his dip in the spring.

I propose that it isn't the spring at all that healed him, but rather he is Jacob manifested in Sayid's body. What you're going to see is an epic battle between Sayid and Locke for the island and the fate of the Losties.

I like it if true.

Also, is it possible Richard is part of the temple people? He seems to have a level of importance above the other Others, and is the one who took young Ben there, so perhaps he has additional involvement with them.

I thought the people at the temple were the others, just another group, with new faces that we haven't seen yet.

Agree, everyman- good call.

I also think that Richard is part of the temple people- the "pro" Jacob group. Seems as if there are more there to protect Jacob than the other guy. that's why it will be interesting to see the conflict when they come together.

Another question, assuming Sayid is Jacob, which implies that his spirit moves from body to body, when did the other guy die and have to take up residence in other forms? Or is the form we saw back in the 1800's another dead person. this could be interesting.

BTW, a note on Claire- while we did see her in the cab, we didn't see her on the plane, or ANY of the post flight groups. My wife brought that up. All we know for sure is that she was in LA. That may mean nothing, but who knows.

Another interesting thing to think about is throughout the series, has the other guy/smoke monster occupied any other bodies? I think Jack's dad is a good guess, anyone else?

I'm guessing that Jacob and the other guy that we saw when the Black Rock landed were just occupying those bodies as well. Jacob and the other guy are at a higher level than humans and are just able to take over the bodies of humans.

Jimmy Kimmel brought this very theory up with the producer's on his show the night of the season premiere. And their answer was (whited out because it's kinda spoilerish) that there is something up with Sayid, but in the next few episodes he'll be able the throw that theory in the trash.

Re: LOST Season 6 -- All Good Things Must Come To An End

So, we know that Jacob and the other guy don't age, probably because they aren't actually humans. Richard doesn't age either, so is it possible that Richard is also something/someone occupying a body like Jacob and the smokemonster are?
