Locked In The Basement: Wisconsin at Michigan Tech, Feb. 26-27

Re: Locked In The Basement: Wisconsin at Michigan Tech, Feb. 26-27

De-commits? You mean the players they signed previously, then proceed to tell them not to bother to show up at the start of the season.
There are those cases too. They also get to keep their team issued fake ID.

Re: Locked In The Basement: Wisconsin at Michigan Tech, Feb. 26-27

tGulk and I already paid a visit to the Wisconsin team during their evening skate to ask them:

-Why they hate the environment?
-How was their bus ride?
-I mean, how was their flight?
-Where is Thurber?

They seemed to enjoy that last one...

You forgot "Jesus Hates Wisconsin" :D
You guys are great.

Things I learned today:
Bunger's mother and sister are FOXES.

Re: Locked In The Basement: Wisconsin at Michigan Tech, Feb. 26-27

I've always wondered which places we flew and which places we bussed. I know they bus to Minneapolis obviously. I would assume Anchorage, North Dakota, CC, and Denver are flights. Duluth, Tech, Mankato, St. Cloud, Minneapolis bus?

Wisconsin flies everywhere in the WCHA, including Minneapolis, St. Cloud, Mankato, and Tech. It's a small recruiting perk that they have. If they don't anymore it was because of budget cuts the last couple years, but I would be suprised if they didn't.

I believe they said on the radio after the series in Duluth that the team was bussing back.

I passed them busing back from the Minnesota series a few years ago.

This is new then, because that's what Matt Murray and Matt Doman told me a few years ago. I would be really really suprised if they bused to Duluth though, even in today's times.

I listened to the Tech guys on the radio feed and they did a great job. Fair, balanced, described the action nicely, called a spade a spade. I was impressed how complimentary of UW they were. :)

Sounded like Goody was fighting the puck and UW did all they could on the O side, with 60 plus shots. Nice job by the Tech netminder.

I got called racist the last time I called someone a spade.

I haven't been in this joint in forever for good reason, but I'm just going to say it right now. Kevin Genoe had 58 ****ing saves tonight. Holy ****ing ****. What the ****.

Yeah, it is just unfortunate that these games require more players than just a goalie.

The No. 3 Wisconsin men’s hockey team (20-8-4, 15-7-3 WCHA) clinched home ice for the first round of the WCHA Playoffs by defeating the Michigan Tech Huskies (5-25-0, 4-21-0 WCHA) Friday night, 5-2. The Badgers trailed 2-1 after one period but scored four straight goals, including three in the final period, to come away with the victory.
I was a little worried at first, but it was nice to see the Badgers finally wake up after the 1st period and put Tech away.

Re: Locked In The Basement: Wisconsin at Michigan Tech, Feb. 26-27

Nice effort by the MTU goaltender tonight. 58 saves still weren't enough, though. A win tonight gives us sole possession of 2nd place and another possible first round WCHA matchup with Minnesota State. I think Denver clinches the McNaughton if they win tonight. So I guess the winner of our January series doesn't take the WCHA. I was wrong, but it was a fun prediction to get everyone riled up. :D

So apparently Dolan, Goloubef, McDonagh, and B. Smith took offense to a traffic signal in 2008.
