Although the coach and others have stated their happiness about playing in front of fans again, the total attendance for two games vs. Mercyhurst was only about 3,000. :-(

Having watched both games on TV, I believe that the 3000 number was a bit inflated. Not many people on the town side of HFH.
I will not be here for either game this weekend. I hope I can catch at least the last period of each game.
I look forward to reading the comments posted here.

Sort of expected. The games that usually draw -Cornell, Clarkson, SLU and Union will bring that average up considerably.

But isn't about 1500/game still low?

I think if we look back years ago we would find that early season games against some schools were in that range. We always drew a larger crowd for the ECAC league games against some of the schools. I am fairly sure we will see a larger turn out as the season moves forward and we get to league play but you are correct in that 1500 is rather a sparse crowd. Not sure what the price of tickets would be for the locals but many folks right now just do not have a lot of extra money around.

I'm going to take a ride over the mountain from the Berkshires and head to Troy today. Hope to take in the women's soccer game at 4pm, and then see how the boys look against LIU. They do look like a speedy team on TV which is fun to watch. I miss the Kelly Askew-type speedy players.

Women's team is tied 0-0 with Mercyhurst after 2 periods. Win or lose, I feel much better about the Engineers based on how they are playing this afternoon.

They did play well enough to keep this one even until late in the third. Unfortunately a power play goal and an empty net goal decided this one against us.

Early start on the gimlets again?

Actually - the last game we played we were celebrating with Van Gogh Vanilla vodka that had several maraschino cherries and a splash of cherry syrup. (some call them cherry vanilla bombs) If we have a game in which we score a handful or more, I will be in deep trouble. I am looking at this weekend as two tough physical games each of which we could win. No prediction coming from me but want to see how we handle large physical teams.
