Lfc 2015

Re: Lfc 2015

That is because you are all satisfied with low expectations, I guess loosing for a number of years has made nirvana easy to obtain.

Expectations are relative to the bar that has been historically set. Success should be measure in the progress made, rather than the definitve end result. As progress is made, the bar is set higher and higher each year.

Re: Lfc 2015

NO however contending for a league championship and a pool bid would raise the bar. Is this coach able to reach those heights? Competition for the position will force all candidates to articulate their plan.
so if he doesn't win a National Championship his first year he should be replaced?

Re: Lfc 2015

Agree and against that measure this years team did not move forward, consequently, you have an interim coach having to convince the AD he should be the next HC. Would it not be prudent to look at others and hear what they have to say. The program has not been stable and its time to pick a HC to stay a while and build the program.

If you don't think they moved forward/progressed this year, then there's no hope for you..

Win%
2014-2015: .648
2013-2014: .554
2012-2013: .463
2011-2012: .185
2010-2011: .204

You can look at others and hear what they have to say all you want, but results speak louder than words. Heck, I can do some research and walk into an interview room and say all the right things. Doesn't mean I'm a better option than Kelliher to build the program.

Re: Lfc 2015

So its ok by you to get bounced in the first round of playoffs and call that progress? Its ok to have teams score many goals in the last minutes of periods? Its ok just to promote PK and not to push at all? What is wrong with searching for other candidates? Why is it no good to say I want more?

You guys must be Cub fans, we are above .500 GREAT!!! If only those 5 ties would have been wins.......

PK may be the right guy, he may turn out to be the best coach since Fritz, I'm saying do some homework.

HMMM sort of funny that the most successful coffee shops serve more than just regular coffee to attract more and lets say better customers... suggest OZZ visit the emerald city.
The coffee wouldn't be good enough. He'd want more. He'd want to do his homework first.

LFC should wait to see if any NHL coaches get bounced for losing in the first round before deciding on their future with Keliher.

Re: Lfc 2015

They did the search, interviewed and found their guy..... Per College policy, a national search will be conducted, with Kelliher as a candidate, at the conclusion of his interim appointment. That is what I know. If Pat is the guy that is their choice.... Is he the guy to lead, recruit and coach LFC to a championship has always been the question.

Re: Lfc 2015

A few other colleges are looking for coaches too. A sad farewell to coach Beaney one of the best in the business. How about a recommendation from USA hockey on coaching candidates for LFC...."A coach is only one part of a successful program. It requires the commitment of the entire institution, from the president to the director of athletics, from the faculty to the entire coaching staff, and of course to the quality and character of the players."
