So the team has a few games under its belt, looks like the compete level and depth continue to get better. A good weekend against the Knights eh?

Re: Lfc 2015

No, but they're on the right track, given the results of the last couple years. If they ever deal with that goat-pen of an arena, look out.

Re: Lfc 2015

LFC played two strong defensive games vs SNC....heavy fore check and neutral zone play. Reminded me of our games with River Falls (when they were still a member of the NCHA).
Podolsky kept them in both games....several very big saves in each game.
Need more consistent play..take a point from SNC, after losing to Northland the weekend before (must note that the backup goalie...Cooper...let in the four Lumberjack goals).
New coach has them playing hard...could spring a few surprises by the end of the season..

Re: Lfc 2015

so, stevens point... did they use up all their goals on finlandia?

This should be an interesting match up on Fri nite....keep the score down and the Foresters have a shot at an upset on the Pointer's home ice..
Same for Sat nite @ Eau Claire.

Re: Lfc 2015

It will be good for the foresters to keep building confidence and Podolsky to continue to be solid.

I thought that Podolsky was very impressive against SNC...made some huge saves....with him in goal, LFC should be in the majority of their games for the rest of the season..plus he is only a Jr..
Great stat line: .95 save % and 1.57 GAA.
At SNC, we know how important a 'hot' goalie can be as you approach the back half of the regular season and into the playoffs... ie.. Jones, O'Brien, Jacobsen, etc..

Re: Lfc 2015

One step forward 3 back.... no offense and too many "bus legs" that has to be fixed to continue on the improvement path.

Interim Coach, PK, has the team focused and moving in the right direction. I'm hoping he's awarded the position permanently this Spring.

His style has been appealing to several local prospects who are now considering coming to LFC to play. With local talent as a base, and continuing to attract good solid out of area players, the program will continue to improve.

Here's hoping the AD doesn't screw up the momentum.

Re: Lfc 2015

well a weekend that should have happened did, this week should tell the team a lot.

The Foresters won both games up on the Peninsula, which is a better result than CSS had a few weeks ago.

Weird things happen when you play Finlandia up there, or Northland in their barn. ;)
