Re: Laker Hockey 2009-10

A CJHL forum said goalie Ravn of Ottawa Junior Senators visited LSSU. Same league that Aubry and Cowie came from.

Ravn is from France, so that seems to fit. Roque mentioned a few weeks ago on the Laker hockey show they had brought in a goalie to check out the school. Said they had to wait on making any offers to him yet because of NCAA clearinghouse issues due to the kid not being from the USA or Canada.

Any idea who the other goalies are they were looking at?

I haven't heard any specific names. If Ravn doesn't work out (clearing house wise), the Lakers will have to bring in another goalie next season since they lose their #2 and #3 goalies after this season. After hearing Coach Roque mention they were looking at a foreign (non-Canadian) goalie, Ravn was my best guess for the guy and you're post confirmed that. Thanks. Do you have a link for the CJHL forum? I check some of the Junior forums occasionally and hadn't run across one for the CJHL before.

Re: Laker Hockey 2009-10

If you've seen Oakville or Vaughan play this season, the Lakers have recruited Kellan Lain (Oakville) and Colin Campbell (Vaughan) for next season. Lain just started playing again a couple of weeks ago after a bad wrist injury (cut with a skate) suffered in the OPJHL playoffs last Spring. He was actually supposed to start playing for the Lakers this season but stayed back in Juniors because of the injury.

Re: Laker Hockey 2009-10

Lakers need 4/6 points the next two weekends especially in this logjam of a race. Lakers could be as high as fourth or as low as eighth or ninth by the time this weekend's games are done with.

Hopefully the special teams does better this weekend.

Anyone else having problems getting the Internet feed for the pre-game show?
(YesFM)

Got it now, but it took several attempts.

Good win for the Lakers and a good start to the weekend. With the tough schedule in the 2nd half, it's especially important to protect home ice.

Re: Laker Hockey 2009-10

That was a hard fought win tonight. Great to see games won that in the past they would have lost. They do need a better showing tomorrow. Tough win guys......way to play nets Brian.........

Re: Laker Hockey 2009-10

Some future Lakers stats from tonight: Dan Radke had a goal and an assist in a Traverse City win, and Colin Campbell had two goals and an assist in a Vaughan win.

Re: Laker Hockey 2009-10

Sounds like the team fought a hard game, and won on a blown off-sides call. I'm sure they'll take the points, but you hate to see a good game end on a blown call like that.

Beamer makes 37 saves on 38 shots and doesn't get a star?
were they all easy saves?

Re: Laker Hockey 2009-10

No Beemer made some real nice saves. I can't wait to hear the pregame show tomorrow to hear what Roque has to say about his little tirade after the game.

What tirade? I agree that BMW made some nice saves. He easily should have been the first star.

Re: Laker Hockey 2009-10

Right after him and Blais shook hands Jim had choic words for a ref and it looked like for Blais as well. I don't know if it was over the call on Scrymjour or what. The winning goal was scored on a missed offside but if they were trying to make up for it with that call then it's just as week.
