Lake Placid-Who's broadcasting, and when?

Re: Lake Placid-Who's broadcasting, and when?

Is this like the old Emergency! TV show where we used to bet on which way the fire trucks would turn when they came out of the station?

I used to watch that show all the time. But I was too young to bet... But I do remember they had a hot nurse on that show.

What's even funnier about my comment is if you knew where I lived -- on a dead end street. :D

Haven't you noticed that in many parts of the country, "Dead End" signs have been replaced with signs that say "No Outlet"

Re: Lake Placid-Who's broadcasting, and when?

Yes, I noticed they've been PC'ing signs. Don't get me started...

I don't get why.

Also we don't have "road construction" any more, just "road work"

"Construction Zones" have been replaced by "Work Zones"

Re: Lake Placid-Who's broadcasting, and when?

So while I don't know who is broadcasting the title game, I just hope it goes to sudden-victory overtime. That'd be exciting.

And I'm hoping the women's basketball game scheduled before hockey doesn't go into overtime, so the people at home can see all the action...at least the programming following hockey is their studio show, so no cutting off the overtime....:D

Setting the dvr for a 4 hr record window...just in case:cool:

Unless it's a project employing certain government employees, then it could be replaced by "Standing and Watching Zones." No, too long to read.

The CBS College Sports Network is proud to be broadcasting the Division III National Championship Saturday in Lake Placid. Matt Shepard and Dave Starman have the call. DirecTV Channel 613 and check your listings for CBSC on your local cable.

My wife just told me that we do get CBS College Sports. It always was part of an upgrade sports package, so I was shocked to hear they now provide it to us as part of our normal digital package.

Too bad I didn't know that earlier. I would have been checking out college hockey games throughout the season.

I guess I now have to set up taping the game for a "repeat" viewing.

Re: Lake Placid-Who's broadcasting, and when?

What's the over/under when USCHO posts the story on the final? Due to the uncertain nature of the end time, please give your estimates as time from the end of the game.

For example, if you think that the story will be up at 9 PM and the game ends at 7:30, enter 1:30 or 90 minutes.

If you think that Webb and/or Jaslow will be home before the story gets posted, enter W for Webb, or J for Jaslow.

My DishNetwork DVR is already set to record channel 152

Tim Costello is going to be there also. So, another variable is in the mix -- C for Costello.

Re: Lake Placid-Who's broadcasting, and when?

IIRC, Dave Starman did the color last year. Didn't hear the broadcast of the DIII game, but I liked him as an analyst in this year's World Juniors.

Dave Starman definitely knows his college hockey (and hockey in general). he writes a lot for USCHO and NHL.com. I don't know how well he knows D3, but I suspect he's a quick learner.

Talk about Pre-Game Banter ...
Ducky Drake joins me on the Big Sports Show Friday morning about 9:15 ... just click on nsnradio.net and then click on the Listen Live icon ... the game will also be on the George Commo Archive starting at 11:00 AM.

I literally laughed out loud to that comment. +1

By the way, the game is on channel 261 on Comcast where I am which is the Boston area. Not sure if it's the same everywhere else.
