Kepler's iPhone

So you just let all the apps run, forever? You don't close them? ***?

There’s been studies done showing that closing them doesn’t help performance or battery life. In fact, you usually lose a little time having them start all over again when you open them up the next time. Should only fully close them if they’re locked up or not working correctly in some other fashion.

That said, I came from droidland and still close them regularly out of habit.

I don't even know how.

Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and hold your finger for a moment after stopping. You can then cycle through your open apps like a Rolodex. if you tap on an app, it will open and take over the screen. If you swipe up on the app so it leaves the top of the screen, it will shut down and close the app.

Yeah about once per week I'll force quit everything on my iphone, wait about a minute, and reboot the phone. That solves virtually any issue I have.

And if don't have unlimited data and pay for it monthly, you should shut down some of the apps because they use data even when you're not using them.

I had no idea how to turn the phone off. None of what I considered obvious solutions worked.

The actual way you do it seems to me to be too stupid for words.

I've always thought that was some sort of inside joke at Apple. No one over 40 could ever figure out how to turn off an iPhone, and no one under 40 would ever dream of doing so.
