January 6th scores - Battle of Lake Champlain, Jeffs & Babo, Bulldogs & Knights oh my

Re: January 6th scores - Battle of Lake Champlain, Jeffs & Babo, Bulldogs & Knights o

Because its the Jills not Bills? It makes no sense because New England wouldn't do it. You'd knell down and call it a day. Would it be classless if Plattsburgh had a powerplay to end the game and Emery pulled his goalie to get a 6 on 4 advantage?

It doesn't make sense because you are comparing a team winning a game and not adding onto the score versus a team losing the game and trying to add onto the score.

In your hypothetical situation, the winning team is not adding onto the score. The debate tonight is about a losing team trying to add onto the score.

Who kneels the ball on the 1 yard line?

I know you don't get to see Buffalo win much, but NORMALLY when a team is winning with :52 seconds left they knell the ball to run the clock out instead of running the ball in to gain some extra points....

Not even Finney's mom is this upset he didn't get the shutout.

I would care because...??

But there is a difference between "extra points" and "any points".

He hasn't waited that long - but Plattsburgh after their timeout went from score mode to shutout protection mode and I don't see where McShane had any real opportunity to do so before calling the timeout - if your going to pull your goalie - you have to make the best of it.

They're a competitive team trying to win a game, he's trying to teach his boys not to give up no matter what the odds, it makes sense to me and I wouldn't be mad if someone did this against my team. They play to win and shouldn't care about the stats. If you want a true shutout you need to earn it. Keep the puck out of the net.

Olaf would have pulled the goalie.....from my 3rd party perspective I see and agree wth all the points made. I thought Norwich looked terrible, and in the end Beany had his team skate off with something positive after gettting soundly beat. Good coaching, actually. Was there something more? Probably. Should be Plattsburgh be ****ed? Yes. But It will set up one helluva rematch, I for one am looking forward too.

OR .... Perhaps he wanted to give the boys a bit of real-game practice using the extra attacker should they encounter that situation in a game that did matter. Either way, I'm fine with a team wanting to score a goal and thwart another team's attempt at a clean sheet. Tell me anyone on this board wouldn't do all they could to spoil a no-hitter.

P.S. this is the type of empassioned debate that used to occur on these boards every night, and made for a compelling season. Things have been waaaaaay too quiet since RIT left.

Lost a lot of respect for McShane on that one....down 0-4 with :50 left you pull your goalie to break up a shut out? Flame on I don't care, classless. Take your loss and hit the bus.....

Coach McShane should care what you think because.........?

Re: January 6th scores - Battle of Lake Champlain, Jeffs & Babo, Bulldogs & Knights o

I don't understand the comparison between a losing team playing for pride and fighting until the end with a team that's running up the score to embarrass the opposing team. To suggest that a team is "classless" for not lying down and dying in the face of defeat is a ridiculous stance for any competitor to take. I'm proud that my team fought until the final buzzer rather than quitting.

As a Bears fan I'm having a hard time understanding how someone complains about winning........
