Not thinking they normally play this but it certainly is frustrating.

A thought...does a 5-2 win by Oswego over Adrian appear like a "good show" by Adrian or a bad loss? Then...does this drop them out of USCHO rankings...what will become of the bulldogs? Time will tell...

Sorry Hammer, but I think Adrian just dropped a few points and not because of a loss. Oswego is a great team, but if you act like a "sore loser" you get a rep that will not help you in future seasons, especially during tournaments that count as out of conference credits. I have been wondering if they were the dream team because of their record. Right now, I don't think so, but we'll see in the Times Argus tourney next New Years.

Stormy, the uscho poll doesn't matter. If Adrian wins the mcha tournament they will make the NCAA tournament with no questions asked. After that it's anyone's guess.

To answer your first question, my guess is somewhere in the middle. Personally I don't consider it a good showing.

As for the rankings, I've never worried about them (and my past postings will indicate that).

What becomes of Adrian? I still expect them to rumble through the MCHA and take the AQ into the tournament. We'll go from there when it happens.

Trust me, I'm well aware. I went to a school that is perennially near the top of the PIM charts in D-1. At Ferris we used to take penalties like fat kids take cheese and gravy in the buffet line. This isn't anything new to me.

Auggies end it early...45 seconds into OT...score three straight against Stout (in less than five minutes) to win 5 -- 4.

Oh, I know that...but as for discussion purposes...I'd think it be interesting to note if Adrian being ranked 5 or higher all season suddenly loses three games vs stronger opponents if they would drop in a discussion based poll...of course, only even more time will we will have to wait to see where Adrian stacks up in the NCAA rankings...that of which I can not wait to see :)

At the end, are you talking about USCHO rankings or the regional rankings?

regional NCAA rankings that come out near the end of February and the seeding that comes out of it all before the tournament.

Adrian will be the last place western team or unranked, which is probably where they would have been if they were still undefeated

I suspect that we already know what the answer is going to be. Adrian went 25-0 in-region last year and wasn't ranked. Granted, the strength of schedule wasn't as strong as it is going to be this year, with the Hamline games in the mix, but I don't see us being ranked when they come out in a month. It's MCHA AQ or bust, and we're looking at the lowest seed in the West, if I had to guess.

Scanning the box scores I noticed an awful lot of "misconducts" called tonight. Is there a full moon?

Just got word from the powers to be in Adrian and based on your insightful feedback, they have decided to fold the entire hockey program and disband the team. That should put an end to the debate.

What stands out to me from the Oswego game is Oswego's big line had 0 points, and they still won. So much for the theory if you shut down their stars the team will struggle. This team is deep.

Always a good sign when your 2nd and 3rd lines carry the load for a couple games. It was like that in 2003 and 2007 for them. It works that way for any team.
