Salve Regina defeats Nazareth 4-3.

Big bounce back for the Seahawks after losing to Hobart 10-0 last night.

By the way, that result creates the following chain:

Hobart > Salve Regina > Nazareth > Brockport > Buffalo State > Penn State > RIT > Michigan

Morrisville scores early in the third. Potsdam's lead cut to 6-5.

A delayed penalty call, and both teams pulled their goalies thinking the penalty was against the other team. Yikes! Turned out to be slashing against Potsdam.

Final from Buffalo in overtime: Geneseo 4 Buffalo State 4

Both teams had some quality scoring chances in overtime, very exciting back and forth play. Both teams played pretty even so the score really indicates that.

So Buff State whitewashes Penn State, falls to Brockport, and then ties a Geneseo team that just beat Fredonia last night 8-1. Seems like another typical Buff State hockey season underway. :D

David Jacobson's consecutive shutout sequence is now officially at 229:13, the fourth longest in Division III history. The first and third spots are held by some guy named Jones and No. 2 is St. John's Adam Hanna. Jones' record is 337:22.

Also, Middlebury opened the 2000-01 season with four straight shutouts in case anyone was wondering about that record.

9-0 !?
Is that how good Oswego is?
OR
How bad Elmira is? .......

St. Scholastica - 4
Wisconsin-Superior - 6

Final NCHA regular season matchup at Wessman Arena ended in a four player bout. Helmetless punches were thrown as the entire crowd looked on. Both teams settled and shook hands. Both teams o'fer on PP with 65 minutes of penalty time. Also, all 10 goals scored by different player. All in all, a much better showing for UWS.

Jacobson just passed Norwich's Chris Czarnota by my count....
