Who needs Pokechecker when we have you, Timothy?

Hey, we'd be down to 16 posters then. And 14 of the other poster's team's colors are ugly and their mascots are complete jokes. I suppose BU's and Cornell's colors are ok. I don't like dogs or bears so their mascots are complete jokes. But neither have regular posters from what I recall.

mattj711's support of Cornell extends back more than a decade. I'll leave it to him to say whether he followed the team before they were contenders.

That's cool. Love the long time posters. Too bad he and I didn't get the chance to run into each other last year in the ncaa's. I can't remember where they were in the bracket vs UW. I sure was looking forward to dispatching Clarkson again to get to them at some point.

Opposite sides; Cornell was top seed and was on the half that had OSU and UM. You had Princeton and Northeastern on your side.

Can we enter an alternate universe and play that tournament? Such a buildup, then nothing. Kinda like the last episode of Seinfeld was for me. So much excitement and anticipation, then it was like "that's it?!?!"

I remember picturing Princeton coming up to Matthews and beating Northeastern, staying in town to practice at Harvard, then hopping on the Comm Ave BC-bound trolley and getting off at BU to head to Agganis and the FF, thereby poking a finger in the eye of all four locals in the course of one long road trip, a unique sequence of events that the Tigers, and others, might have taken a perverse delight in.

I love it.

After watching "60 Minutes" last night and learning that men's D-I gymnastics is down to something like 15 programs (okay, so maybe I didn't learn it very well), I now understand that women's hockey is virtually a mainstream sport by comparison.

I hope that the other 16 women's college hockey fans here are being safe, because we obviously can't afford to lose anyone to Covid.

Hi all! A strange season indeed. I feel so apathetic to it this year. It just doesn't seem like there's a point to it, other than the teams keeping in shape. I tuned in to the UNH - VT game last night, watched a few minutes (in silence - it seems their normal, fantastic play by play guy was not there), and ended up turning it off. It's hard to sit with eyes glued to the silent screen. Even ambient rink noise would allow me to look away for an instant.

I’m thinking the nwhl bubble hockey might be the most interesting thing this year. I hope they have a decent stream setup. Not sure if worlds is on or off at this point; that also has the potential to be interesting.

Yes Lindsay, you are correct, having one announcer is fine, two is better and it would never happen in men's college hockey. Just don't get how even if it is not in the budget to pay someone that a student does not want a resume builder.

DC78-82 - Not questioning your computer skills but if you were watching last night's game on collegesportslive.com, there was an announcer. Not sure why, but the games default to Mute when you sign in. You have to click the sound icon to unmute. Hope that helps.

It’s funny because in college I would have been too busy/ shy to add color or attempt calling a game, but looking back I think it would have been fun. The sort of thing that should definitely be encouraged as I think it could benefit a person in numerous ways not to mention the benefit to the program and fans. There’s no doubt the world is trying to embrace a more diverse set of sports broadcasters, and NEEDS broadcasters who know the women’s game period regardless Of gender etc. great for Eastwood/ Cuse for what they did. As women’s hockey continues to evolve hopefully we’ll see more passionate and knowledgeable folks call the games.

Merry Christmas to all of us who love women’s hockey and sports! Just finding that you ask the question Tony is remarkable! And a shame....I agree with DC that the empty arenas make all games feel like scrimmages but personally given that the UNH thread hasn’t been noted since March says it all....since Scarano decimated both booster clubs for UNH hockey, there has been only parents and a few fans that follow the programs(regardless of COVID!) I have been following the Alumni that have continued their careers in the NWHL! At least this is some way for me to support the Wildcats and enjoy the women’s game!
Hopefully, UNH will soon find it’s footing and regain a strong presence in the league and nationally which might resurrect the program.....as for this thread, I know that I will still be checking in on occasion to see what some brilliant minds happen to be discussing

I was wonder what the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow might be. I've got to get delivered a small but late Christmas present and I think the USPS is still too backed up. Thanks for your help in advance.

A lot will depend on if what has all gone on the last 9-12 months in response to covid becomes "the new normal" or it's all exposed as the politically motivated over reaction that many believe it was? I can easily imagine teams playing out the entire winter sports season only to have the Championships canceled AGAIN. Hard to keep sports fans interested when sh1t like that happens.

Oh and, "I don't know... Aaahrgh" Too many funny things about that movie. Same actors playing several parts, the coconut's thing instead of horses being because of their tiny little budget, lol.
