Well we all know Owens wont get fired after this year. It was a huge success. CC got the gold pan.

Well... scoring 4 on us pushed us from 2nd to 3rd in the conference in goals against. So there's that...

Not to pile on here, but CC was 0-9-1 in non-conference. That hurts the whole conference when it comes tournament time. Hope they get things straightened out. They have a great school to sell but I don't think Owens has it anymore. Sad to see how far they have fallen in the past two years.

Four years after DG started the thread the eagle has landed. I love the language in the articles that say something to the effect of after meeting with the AD for his annual review both agreed it was time for him to step down. For the sake of the program and the quality of college hockey in the state I hope they go after strong outside candidates.

I like Eric Rud, but that shouldn't stop a comprehensive national search and making him compete for the job. Bringing in sentimental favorites is something that losing teams do... oh wait...

But perhaps there is a ray of hope, with CC playing in a new arena next year. I hear Anschutz is renaming the CS world arena to... Wait for it... The Broadmoor World Arena. It's no wonder it feels like the Buetow era ending all over again.

The 60 applicants list is narrowed down to 10,

Rud and Bonnet are included in the ten remaining.

I almost wish this would happen. It would be a complete media frenzy, and the NCHC would benefit from the coverage. The rivalry would be invigorated and it would overshadow every other hockey rivalry in the country. It would be great for Colorado hockey.
