Why drag DU into this great thread? There's plenty of disaffected CC fans out there. Look at all the empty seats at World Arena and the free falling ticket prices. :)

Lack of SuCCess wants nothing different than French soccer fans. Accountability and heads to roll.

Actually it's a different hit. The first video features Oshie rolling over him. The second features Prosser getting outmuscled by a member of the Badgers.


To those who think I am a DU fan I'm not. I just want Owens gone before the program has irreparable damage--it's trending the wrong direction.

Just saw Jaden Schwartz drafted at 14th--wouldn't blame him if he no shows...even if he does come I won't bank on more than one year...especially when he see just how mediocre the program has become under Scotty.

Point One: It should have been "You're an idiot...." When insulting others for being stupid it is best not to make grammatical errors of the most basic sort.

Someone/Anyone with some f-ing fire behind the bench. It's an observable pattern that Scotty's teams are only good when they have exceptional player leadership [Stuarts, Hartsburg, Sejna, Preissing, Sertich/Sterling]

Parents, let this be a warning when it comes to the safety of your children. Lead paint poisoning can cause irreversible brain damage and can impair mental functioning. It can retard mental and physical development and reduce attention span.

Please, if you live in a home constructed before 1980, do the right thing for your family - get your home tested for lead-based paint.

Point One: When making a list you usually start with the number one not zero.

Point Two:

1) Frank Seratorre - he failed at DU, what makes you think he would have success at CC?
2) Eric Rud - no head coaching experience. He has done well as an assistant at SCSU. He probably needs to be a head coach in the USHL first.
3) John Hill - two words: Alaska Anchorage.
4) Joe Bonnett - why would you want him? Owens hired him.
5) Mark Johnson - pipe dream. It would never happen.
6) Don Lucia [when he's fired at the U] - he would never come back to CC.
7) Seth Appert - needs to prove himself at RPI still.

Point Three: Nice try. Can't wait for your next meaningless post. :rolleyes:

Still loving the thread.

You have to wonder what Richard Bachman is thinking this weekend. He blows off the last two years at Colorado College to sign with the Dallas Stars and they go off and draft Jack Campbell. Pro hockey is a brutal business and trying to crack the NHL as a goaltender has to be one of the biggest longshots in all of sports.

Not sure you can say Serratore "failed at DU." He set the table for Gwozdecky, who took a 100% Serratore recruited team to the NCAA's his first season at DU. DU had the worst arena in the WCHA at the time and did not have much in the way of facilities to recruit players.

To say that Serratore is the same coach today or that he hasn't improved one bit since his stint at DU is also pretty disingenuous.

Serratore's record at Air Force speaks for itself. And lets not forget coaches like Bill Bellichek who didn't exactly set the world on fire in their first head coaching gig.

What got Serratorre fired at DU was not his record - it was his young temper. He was in process of building a fine program at DU when he was let go by Chancellor Ritchie for his continued outbursts at his players.

Serratorre has since learned to better control himself and is a very fine coach today as a result of the lessons he learned.

If he had DU's current arena and a little more maturity back in the early 1990s, there is no doubt in my mind that he'd have a lot of hardware today and would still be DU's coach....

Rich made some good points as usual. As a longtime CC fan and season ticket holder, I also tire of CC stinking it up in the playoffs. Coach Owens is a really good regular season coach but come playoffs he struggles. Some coaches know how to get their teams to the next level come post season, Scott Owens thus far has proven he is not one of them. Is it time to fire Coach Owens? Only if we can get a proven Coach like Jeff Jackson or Lucia to replace him. So until then go Tigers!

We had Lucia, how many championships did his teams win? With the most talent in the country how have his teams done lately? I'm as tired of the late season fading as anyone, but there aren't many upgrades out there. Owens brings in good talent every year that puts a competitive team on the ice. I'm not really sure how Lucia got CC out of their funk, or how Owens has maintained their current level, because they should probably be terrible year after year if you compare CCs situation to most of the WCHA. Maybe it's the kind of players CC can get that just struggle making it through the grind of a whole season, but I would prefer what we have to Tech's ability to play at the same level all season long.

2003-2004: Upset eventual NCCA Champion Denver in 1st Round
Lost to UAA [Really?!?] in WCHA Final 5

2004-2005: 2nd WCHA Final Five
Frozen Four Appearance Butts kicked by DU
[All & all not a bad showing]

2005-2006: 1st Round WCHA home ice Loss to Saint Cloud
Still make NCAA tourney only to suffer 1st Round Loss to Cornell

2006-2007: 1st Round WCHA home ice Loss to Michigan Tech
Scored an impressive 3 goals in 3 games

2007-2008: 4th Place WCHA tournament
[Two uninspired losses to MN and UND]
Loss to Michigan State @ CSWA

2008-2009: 1st Round WCHA Home Loss to Duluth
[Asses handed to them both nights]

2009-2010: Trying not to think about it. At least the collapse started early
this year 12/30/09.

I'm not sure if he's responsible for the dumb *** commercial about season ticket price reductions on the CC website, but I think we can blame Scotty for that one too.

I might add that the whole CSWA experience has groan stale [get it? clever pun groan stale ha ha ha] : same stupid music, same dumb *** intermission games, same bad food, same bad PA announcer [miss old JD Caldwell]...I imagine this all falls on Owens too.

Yeah, most college hockey coaches spend most of their time working on commercials for season tickets.
