Iran So Far Away: 2026

Boots on the ground next week.
Prediction or announced?

Edit: oh, CENTCOM request approved.

TBF that might just be pro forma. It gives them the option. You would want all your options.

But I get how it feels like the opening curtain for Vietnam in the Desert.

It will make Vietnam look like a walk in the park

Read on a forum for ex-agency folk:

I have been in Iran, both openly and covertly. Anyone who has ever seen their terrain understands why, along with the Han and the Hindi, they are an unkillable civilization. They have the topographical equivalent of General Winter fighting for them. And it's every day of the year.

The Persians don't always win. But at worst they tie.

The smartest thing Dump could do, right this second, is declare Total Beautiful Victory while cutting a deal through his Russian handlers with Tehran for secret reparations. That's our only way out where this doesn't end in a much worse tragedy. I'd go along with it just to save the lives.

Trump just bragged about destroying military targets on Iran's Kharg Island, but spared the oil facilities there "for now."

Why is that important? Because 90% of Iran's oil goes through that Island. Destruction of that facility would lead to a global oil demand spike.

Conservatives with integrity.
