Iran So Far Away: 2026

I don't monitor US news so I have no idea if they are covering it, but the BBC reports three cargo ships trying to run the Strait were fired upon by the Iranians, with one sustaining damage to the engine room. The three were taken to an Iranian port. So both sides are blockading again? I really don't understand how all this is supposed to work, which is probably the point. Act so irrational that no one can follow along and you can get away with anything.

It's a clusterfuck just like this entire country and the administration running it.
 
So, Donnie is trying to send 1100 Afghans to the Congo on deportation flights.
Not just any afghans, the ones who were interpreters for the US military and former members of Afghan special ops forces and family members of american servicemen (and over 400 kids).

gee, how are more countries not running to help us out with Iran??

Per Mr. Global on TikTok, oil prices are down $20+ from last week, but Gasoline futures are up and continuing to rise.


Maybe this should also be doubled in the business thread, but empty tankers are en-route to the Gulf of Mexico to purchase US refined oil, diesel, and gasoline. This is NOT a good thing because demand will go up for those products domestically because foreign buyers will drive up the price of refined product, despite crude prices dropping.

On one hand: horrible inflation.

On the other: possibility of UAA getting a new arena goes up.
 
Brent crude may have a second wind tonight.
