Interesting.....Ill leave it at that...Oswego picks up a goalie:
Justin Gilbert, Kingston Voyageurs.
What ya gonna do .....hes a goalie they seem to march to their own drummerIt is interesting. Looking at the team stats, he played in 22 regular season games for Kingston. 13-7-1 with a 2.84GAA and 92.1% Save %. The team's other goalie went 7-11 during the regular season, but played every playoff game. Gilbert didn't play a minute during the playoffs.
And then there's this from a game in February.
Interesting indeed.
Edit: Here's more on Gilbert.

All of this information aside...
I have it on good authority Oswego has picked up a good talent in this one.
Also...nice professionalism by the broadcaster in that video.... (yikes...)
Looks like Elmira is building a team, may be a football team ,but nevertheless, they have 8 recruits on the collegecommitments site, see post# 99 for link..they look to have a few good guys from a few good leagues big boys for sure a few of them...
That was the main guy I was referring to when I said big guy from TOP league...looks like a very nice pick-uphttp://www.bchl.ca/leagues/rosters_...&teamID=305113&playerID=688455&showGameType=2
^Elmira nabs a 67 point guy from the BCHL.....This one might be a guy to keep an eye on. Big kid with a knack for the net looks like.

see post #82 collegecommitments they list positions as well.....THANK YOU finally a committment site that lists the players position !
what was the major problem?? a lot of fighting?? or was there stick work?? or bothWent to check out some of the incoming (21 yo Kashmunnie) freshmen in Ottawa at the Fred Page. There are some very skilled players at the Jr A level; unfortunately, some will need to develop other coping skills to be able to play NCAA hockey. Kanata has a decent forward (Donnelly) headed to Genny, and three Nepean players are headed to D1.
The LHJAAAQ representative (Princeville) was a bit over matched, and squared off against the host team tonight (Kanata) that hadn't even qualified for the CCHL playoffs, and hadn't played in over a month. Now to the bizarre stuff:
- Eleven goals were scored ... all at one end of the ice!
- At one point, there were 7 Titans in the box (haven't seen that since Canisius days)
- Five (I think) were ejected, plus the coach
- At 5:01 of the third, the entire team left the ice
- Parents cheered their kids as they smashed their sticks in an attempt to break the glass on their way out.
- Pretty sad listening to parents butchering the English language attempting to curse out and flip off the refs, (with their small children in tow)
- The team returned after 5 minutes (sans Coach) to kill a ~10 minute 5x3
- Princeville (irony at its best) forfeited the game after a melee with 12 seconds left
- Parents from both squads were lining up to rumble at the dressing room tunnel until every volunteer intervened, and 4 cop cars came screaming in
If the scorer ever gets the scoresheet entered, it will be here. And since I've never experienced Jr hockey, I now have a new appreciation for the civility of the NCAA game, and understand the difficulty of recruiting college student athlete talent out of that cesspool.
