Incoming Freshmen for Fall of 2012

Re: Incoming Freshmen for Fall of 2012

Well why don't you post what the errors are. Do you have any recruits to add?

I'm sure if he were at liberty to divulge the information, he would. However, I can tell you from personal experience that Norwich University has a very strict policy when it comes to incoming student-athletes, in which they do not discuss recruits or other incoming freshmen until they are on campus, up-to-date on tuition payments, and attending classes. That is, after all, the moment at which they officially become "students" (a requisite for being a "student-athlete").

In other words: if he does give out the info, his job is at stake.

Maybe he can work a deal with hawk?

Norwich relatively recently had a pair of commitments from Northwood School in Lake Placid, one was Zac Fulton who did keep his, the other was Richie LaVeau who was recruited to Clarkson at the last minute following his Northwood teamate Jake Morley instead.

Norwich recruiting is top secret business. Until a guy shows up on campus there will be not a word spoken about potential recruits by anyone with any connection to the program.

That said, IMO, they should be free to discuss potential recruits involved in any OTHER program.

Which starts down that slippery slope of raising questions about any recruit they do NOT talk about. I could talk about them (but probably won't), you can talk about them, but it is probably best that they (prez and company) do not.

Change could make Canada's traditional ice hockey extinct.

BTW, all teasing aside, I do totally agree with jerrynu26 on the "insider trading" issue.

There will always be natural and man made ice in places like Lab City which is about 400 miles from Bay Comeau on Hydro Quebec roads. Norm did you get a ticket to the Amherst/Plattsburgh or are you going to pick one up at the door.

I agree. Let's not put posters in a position that could very easily get them in hot water elsewhere.

Re: Incoming Freshmen for Fall of 2012

Based on Clarkson's projected roster for 2012-13, we'll have 33 players. That's too many.

Re: Incoming Freshmen for Fall of 2012

My kid was aggressively recruited by a number of teams....most aggressively by the team he committed to in Dec. Still working on completing his college application. I know a number of other players from his league...also heavily recruited. None of them applied, got in and then told the coach they were coming. That's not how it works.

Re: Incoming Freshmen for Fall of 2012

Whatever happened to the annual recruits database that some (I think it was a little red birdy?) used to compile and update on this boards a few years back? That used to generate some great offseason discussions. Im sure many would like to see it resurrected. :)
