Re: Illegal Immigration IV: Amnesty For Some, Miniature American Flags For Others
If you knew the Tucson media, you'd know how silly this sounds. Tucson is the liberal part of Arizona. There was an article in the paper a few months back about how some Tucsonans want to secede from the rest of Arizona, and particularly Phoenix, they dislike how the Republicans do things so much. Not to mention that Hugh Holub is a longtime southern Arizona resident who is widely respected for his insights. You may recall me having posted articles by him in the past, not always taking my slant on immigration issues. So, you're right, a Tucson paper wouldn't generally be unbiased, they'd be biased in favor of the illegals. The Citizen is a bit more balanced than the Daily Star though, I will give them that.
I guess because you usually criticize me on immigration issues, and side with folks like 5mn who wants to see an open border with no federal expenditures to control the border, as he apparently thinks that'll allow funding of all his other programs he wants from Obama while simultaneously balancing the budget.Because the illegal vote's so big...
And as I've said in the past, I'm generally on your side when it comes to immigration issues, so I really don't know why you continue to call me a liberal, unless it's simply because that just isn't even close to being a top priority when assessing candidates for the 2012 election.
But forgive me if I don't believe a Tucson newspaper as being completely unbiased on this issue. And I've learned over the last few years that reporters never get legal stories right, and since this guy doesn't appear to understand even a relatively simple concept like prosecutorial discretion, I'm even more skeptical of his assertions.
