Re: I Think I'll Go For A Walk - Death Pool Thread

Anna Schwartz, probably most famous as co-author (with Milton Friedman) of A Monetary History of the United States, 1867 - 1960, a ground-breaking, still-influential book that is both technically proficient and well-written and accessible to the lay person.

This interview quote sums up the findings of her life's work quite aptly and succinctly:

"Everything works much better when wrong decisions are punished and good decisions make you rich."

Former Northeastern coach and Hall of Famer Fern Flamen has passed. He was 85.

I'll take "Mild Heart Attacks" for $800, Alex.

Think somebody will do a Herman Goring for him?
Goring opted to speed up the process a little, the night before he was to hang. Sandusky doesn't exactly have an end date set in stone so much, but yeah, it would be worth it to draft him I think.

Flaman had a successful NHL career before coaching at Northeastern.

Flaman played five years for the Bruins before being traded to Toronto where he won the Stanley Cup in his first season with the Maple Leafs in 1951. After three more years in Toronto, he was back with the Bruins in 1954, playing another seven seasons. Flaman was named the Bruins captain in 1955 and wore the 'C' for the duration of his career. In 15 NHL seasons, Flaman was a Second Team All-Star on three occasions (1955, 1957 & 1958).

NHL Hall of Fame player Gordie Howe was quoted as saying Flaman was “the toughest defenseman I ever skated against.”

Flaman finished his NHL career with 34 goals and 174 assists for 208 points in 910 games, and added 1,370 penalty minutes. At the time of his retirement, he was third in NHL history in career penalty minutes.

Didn't Hermann have a little help from a star struck officer who allowed him to rummage around in his luggage (against regulations), where he presumably retrieved the poison capsule?
