How would you rank the conferences going into next year?

Based on this year and not knowing what early departures are soon to come:

1. HE
2. NCHC
3. ECAC
4. Big Ten
5. WCHA
6. AHA

Depth of the leagues will be harder to judge with smaller leagues in the west and soon to be 3 twelve team leagues basically filled with Eastern teams. Due to this, the hardest one for me to place was the Big Ten.

Okay, seriously, it'll be
1. NCHC
2. All the others now that we've brushed off all the WCHA riff raff except one (here's looking at you, UMD!) and taken in the only two quality CCHA teams out there.

3. Midget Voltron
4. Hockey Rast (once {Proviced leaves)
5. The grisly spectre of the CCHA
6. Hufflepuff's quidditch team (post Cedric Diggory)
7. The AFC West
8. Whatever division of Scottish football Rangers ended up in
9. The CHA for some reason
10. BC's scrimmages
11. Freddy Meyer

Toss up 1-3 with Big Ten, HE and NCHC

The top three will be the NCHC, Hockey East, and the Big Ten. There are two ways to rank the conferences.

Success/talent:
1) NCHC
2) HOCKEY EAST
3) BIG TEN

Profile/reach/tv coverage:
1) BIG TEN
2) HOCKEY EAST
3) NCHC

Time will tell whether the profile/reach of the Big Ten lifts up all the teams in this conference at the expense of the NCHC teams. As I speculated in my topic "Did UND lose in conference realignment", the Big Ten could lead to the rise of Penn-State and Ohio State and the resurrection of a program like Wisconsin (which has been a little cold for a few years) at the expense of programs like UND and Denver. Especially if Gwoz moves to a Big Ten program, it could give the NCHC a tier 2 feeling even though the talent currently exceeds all conferences.

After these three, its probably a toss-up between the WCHA and ECAC (slight-adv. to ECAC).

According to the hockey elite in Connecticut there is only one conference (one should read this aloud with tightly clinched teeth).

Walverines are a bit distracted by their boucy ball team so I'm taking the liberty of posting their opinion on the matter for them....
