Re: How many games have you been too? 2012-13 season
well, played my freshman yr at the domes then the next 3 at Romney both fun places for sure ,also made many trips to Hershey as a kid to play in the xmas tourny there, great place...cant say I have to many good memories at stafford, but they have top shelf fans....Hamilton was a funky rink to play in as well, the team used to skate the wrong way in warm up and we refused to do it, we had a nice little donnybrook b4 the game even started slapshot style, refs were not even on the iceYou can't go wrong with Oswego, Norwich or Middlebury. All three barns are great.
I'm anxiously awaiting my trip to Plattsburgh next Friday to get my first look at the new Stafford video boards. From what I've heard those have really helped take Plattsburgh to a new level as far as a gameday experience with an added touch to the rink. I'm curious to see if Norwich and Middlebury follow suit to keep up with the Joneses if you will.
However, if you honestly want my opinion, the best rinks for watching a game that I've been to over the years are:
The Domes in Elmira. (Love the quick escalating seating so you feel like you're on top of the ice even when you're near the top of the building.)
Romney Fieldhouse (Oswego's old barn, can't beat the atmosphere in there for a Plattsburgh game)
HersheyPark Arena (This one might be the best. This rink should be a national landmark. It's everything that's right with college hockey.)
