I'm curious of your opinion of how Elmira and Oswego both looked against Utica since you saw them both with in three days of each other and were probably one of the few people to do this sans maybe Pio#1 and the other Utica fans. (who have seemed to have disappeared lately? where are Pioneerfan11, BillyBumpkinUC, XC Tiger....etc?)

Obviously Elmira won by a bigger margin but you got to see the Lakers play two games and they whomped Hamilton after the first period.

Who do you think is the better team or is there not really a comparison?

Still here, just not as active on the boards this year.

Having seen Oswego twice (@ Utica and Hamilton) and Elmira just once (@ Utica) it is difficult for me to make a fair comparison. However, I'll give it a shot.

IMO, Oswego is far superior to Elmira on the power play. The way they move the puck is very impressive. However, I would say that Elmira is more disciplined on the penalty kill. Oswego is very active on the kill, but seems to take too many chances and ends up getting burned.

5 on 5 - I'm not sure that any team I have seen this year is as deep as Oswego. The top three lines were all very scary to watch. Elmira's top two lines looked very strong to me, but there was a drop off beyond that.

Goaltending - Gunn-Taylor probably didn't play his best game against Utica down here, but I wasn't impressed. I saw Beckwith against Hamilton last Friday and he seems like the better option. Tuttle is solid for Elmira and has been for a long time. I would give the edge to the team in the purple.

My guess - if the two teams played ten times, Oswego would win 7. They are the deeper team, but with Tuttle in net I certainly don't think there would be too many blowouts (regardless of how the first game went this year).

Goaltending - Gunn-Taylor probably didn't play his best game against Utica down here, but I wasn't impressed. I saw Beckwith against Hamilton last Friday and he seems like the better option. Tuttle is solid for Elmira and has been for a long time. I would give the edge to the team in the purple.

I think both goalies are very capable of carrying a team. Either one of them would be starters for alot of other teams. I think Beckwith keeps himself in good position and squares himself to the puck a little better. KGT can make the 'flashy' save. Coming into the season, I liked KGT more because he had a little experience (@ Buff State) whereas Beckwith hadn't really proven himself at this level. Right now, I think I'd be happy/confident with either in net. I will say that I still lean towards KGT a little more. He seems to play with an edge and an attitude (i.e cockiness/confidence...remember it was alleged that he worked out at Buff State in an Oswego hat) that helps him out. Beckwith seems to play with much less emotion and more of a business-like attitude.

It all depends on their performance, and whether coach wants me to go or not.

I've missed more Laker games this year than I have in the last 3. Back in the late 90's I had my son's hoop's trips to use a good reason for missing games. Now I just have work and vacations????
