If it came down between choosing to recast GG or pay Ratner to go away WB would have a public relations disaster if they choose the former. DECU is on shaky ground and WW has been it's only genuine bright spot.

I'm on her side here, I just don't see this having a happy ending. Ratner has absolutely no incentive to walk away from likely his last payday. If a morals clause even exists it would have to be proven in a court of law that he broke it. I adore Ellen Page but being mean to her isn't enough and the allegations against him are just that. And while all this is being argued in court for the next few years, Patty Jenkins and crew are spinning their wheels waiting to begin production. There probably isn't a morals clause anyway since Ratner was basically giving WB money to help finance the film.
Maybe WB can find a dollar amount good enough to get Ratner to go away, but if they can't this is going to be ugly.
ETA: the original deal was for $450,000,000. How much does WB pay Ratner to just go away? And how quickly do the shareholders fire CEO Kevin Tsujihara after he signs away all that money?

Agreed. And everyone has a price. Ratner will still get rich, it's just a matter of how rich, and how much work he had to do with the movie.

This changes the story considerably. Gal Gadot had a three-picture deal at WB. Batman Vs Superman, Wonder Woman and Justice League complete that deal. That means she is NOT under contract for the sequel.
For their part, WB says they have heard no such demand from Gadot and Gadot hasn't said anything publicly.
ETA: the release date for WW2 was moved up to November 1, 2019 to avoid direct competition with that little Star Wars film.
