that was such a clear dive... dee was barely moving, didn't raise his arms, didn't initiate the contact, and the bc player launches himself like dee had lowered the boom...

re: the hooking calls, the quickest way to get called for hooking is to stop moving your feet and start reaching with the stick... all but one call was a legit hook (the one exception was when janney questioned how you can get called for a hook with one hand on the stick)

as for the rest... can't really argue with the hfb and boarding calls... if you can see the guy's numbers, you're probably gonna get called... and janney needs to cool it with the whole "it's the new dive..." just tired of hearing it... he's used that line about 200 times in the last two nights...

You betcha. That replay was hilarious. He didn't even dive at the post, he skated to the net, stopped, and then hammed both skates into the post like it was no big deal.

and if they had called it, i would have been ok with it... can't chance the guy swinging around and stuffing it in...

In all fairness, Smith heads to the puck and the Maine guy basically dives in front of him where they all meet at the puck and he faceplanted himself into the boards. Smith barely hit him except for getting tangled up with him as he dove at Smith.

Bizarre period of hockey right there. Let's hope the game is a little more clean. Terrible to watch with a lot of borderline stuff all over the place.

BC fans focus alot on the refs. I never understand why they think all of these independant refs are soley focused on screwing BC. Hockey refs in general suck for both teams. Thats one of the reason I hate Parker and love York. York never mentions the refs.

looked to me that he got to the spot first, and shielded the defender off as he went to play the puck to back to the other d man... bad luck for smith, yeah, but no different than when a guy turns at the last second on you...

Same can be said for Maine. HE refs are the worst without a doubt.

Carmine will like this after his tirade against a BU poster earlier. On the way home I was listening to Amonte on the radio broadcast and he said that BC having 4 freshman dmen was unheard of and that these guys are 18/19 vs Freshman at other schools like Maine where they are much older. He said that he was mostly impressed with Samuelson and has no idea how a kid from Arizona could be that good. He said the dmen is what seprated BC from the other teams.
