Wow. what do you say to that. NH numbers are really not good (my kid is working for a health dept in NH and he just rolls his eyes and keeps saying- Live Free and Die. They are really working on the Die part.)

New York is allowing the Rangers to have 2500 fans beginning Feb 26th. So even a lockdown commie state like NY is letting people in now that the election is over. Why not college? UND has been allowing 2000 fans with no problem.

Actually Cuomo just approved having 10% fans in any arena over 10,000 and any other organizations must get State approval. I assume that means smaller venues need a direct approval. So colleges conceivably can start having fans if they get approved.

We're actually doing pretty well up here, thank you. WAY better than MA, CT, RI and NY.

Would be nice if they released the formula. Regardless from the press release it seems like a lot of work to switch the 8 and 9 seeds compared to PPG, which at least everyone understands.

Love what Hockey East is doing this season. Its a weird season and they seem to be pivoting and doing the best they can. The new rankings system is going to be fun to watch - teams will be moving up and moving down based on other games.

To be fair the new ranking system makes sense given the limitations this year and I actually would prefer the new playoff system over two rounds of best of three. They should never spend more than two weeks on the conference tourney.

It will be interesting if they go back to the garden when life is back to normal. It was a lot of fun back in the day but maybe it’s time to move on.

Why would it be time to move on? Even with lighter crowds over the years since the decline of the Big 4 era, the tournament money goes a long way for the league.

And if an auto bid is gonna be given to tournament champ and not RS champ, i would not be in favor of single elimination in QF round.

All teams being in was because of a COVID year. Next year, back to 8 teams.

Personally, I'm just happy that we're having a season--unbalanced, irrational, unfair, and discombobulated as it may be. And I really don't have any strong feelings about the tournament selection formula or even which team ultimately wins. Completing a season, having any kind of playoff, and crowning a champion is what's important. We can get back to expecting fairness, balance, rationality, and clarity next year when this scourge is hopefully in the rear-view mirror.

I would much prefer eight teams, but from what I’ve read they’re likely to go back to 11. Whatever they do I don’t want it to take three weeks. I’d add that I’d rather see one good game than three mediocre ones.
