Hockey East: 2019/20 season is Joe Bertagna's last as commish

Re: Hockey East: 2019/20 season is Joe Bertagna's last as commish

Notice that the article was written back in 2015 and "updated" as recently as last summer. I wonder what the "update" was...

It looks like it was "updated" right around when the Sun canned him last summer.

Unless I made a mistake, I think this is where things stand:

Tie breakers of Note
UMass over UConn at 28. 1-1 H2H, both 13 conference wins, UMass 1-2 vs BC, Uconn 0-2
UMass over UML at 28 or 29. 1-1 H2H UMass has 13 conference wins, UML would have 12 or 11
Maine then UML then BU if three way tie at 27. All 1-1-3 h2h. Maine would have 12 conference wins vs 11 for UML and 11 for BU. UML 1-1 vs BC, BU 0-2.
UConn then Maine then BU if three way tie at 27. UConn wins 4-1-0 h2h. Maine beats BU 1-0-1 H2H

Maine can't be caught by both BU and NU as NU needs 4 points, and that would mean BU getting 0

BU's ceiling is 4 not 3. For BU to get to 27 and tie UML, UML would have to lose to UConn, which would put them at 28 and in 3rd.
UNH's is 6, not 5. Either BU or NU (or both) will get to 24 points (or more) this weekend. If either gets to 25, UNH can't catch them. If they all end up at 24, UNH loses the 3-way tiebreaker.

Maine has one game left so can’t get three in the final game..

Re: Hockey East: 2019/20 season is Joe Bertagna's last as commish

The top four seeds are set.

Team Points Max Range
BC 34 36 1
UMA 30 30 2
UML 29 29 3
Me 27 27 4

UC 26 26 5-6
BU 25 27 5-6
PC 23 23 7-8

NU 21 23 7-9
UNH 20 22 8-9

If BU wins tomorrow night, the Terriers finish #5 and will play in Orono. Anything less and they finish sixth and will travel to Lowell.

Providence has clinched a playoff spot despite the loss. A Northeastern tie or loss and the Friars will finish #7 and go to UMA. A Northeastern win and PC drops to #8 and will go to Conte Forum.

A UNH win and a Northeastern tie or loss and the Wildcats get the final playoff spot thanks to the third tiebreaker (a win over Boston College). A tie or loss, or a Northeastern win, eliminates New Hampshire. The Huskies can still finish #7 with a win.

Re: Hockey East: 2019/20 season is Joe Bertagna's last as commish

The quarters are set.

#8 Providence at #1 Boston College
#7 Northeastern at #2 Massachusetts
#6 Boston University at #3 UMass-Lowell
#5 Connecticut at #4 Maine

Hockey East: 2019/20 season is Joe Bertagna's last as commish

Anyone here have a subscription to New England Journal? Jeff Cox tweeted a Hockey East article via the New England Hockey Journal on who will definitely leave and who are potential flight risks. I was hoping to get the list and see what the article says but obviously don't want to pay the ridiculous amount for just 1 article.

Screenshots or a list of the teams and players on who is def leaving v flight risk would be appreciative!
