Re: He says he's not dead.

The television network that broadcast the 2004 World Series played the Etta James song "At Last" when the Red Sox won. The memory is forever seared in my memory as part of the experience of watching my team finally win the big one.
She was so good not even that association could ruin that song.

Re: He says he's not dead.

Found out Burke's parents need $200,000 to pay for medical bills according to CBC Radio. I hope her sponsor picks up part of the tab and others come to help.

Re: He says he's not dead.

It's a sad day. I don't care about the Sandusky thing at this moment. JoePa is/was college football.

There is no joy tonight in Happy Valley

Former Penn State coach Joe Paterno is in serious condition after experiencing health complications from lung cancer.

"Over the last few days Joe Paterno has experienced further health complications," family spokesman Dan McGinn said in a brief statement Saturday to The Associated Press. "His doctors have now characterized his status as serious.

"His family will have no comment on the situation and asks that their privacy be respected during this difficult time," he said.

Re: He says he's not dead.

No, apparently he's still in serious condition. I guess being dead is serious, I suppose.

Re: He says he's not dead.

Poor guy's not even going to get a proper sendoff. It's going to be a media/student/protestor ****show.

Re: He says he's not dead.

I'm reminded that at Manolete's funeral, one of his banderilleros said: "They kept demanding more and more of him. And more was his life. So he gave it to them."

Re: He says he's not dead.

It's been 20 minutes. You would think the Boys in Bristol would have something. I was waiting for them to break the news at the top of the hour. *shrug*

This waiting around for "the announcement" adds one more layer of sadness to an incredibly sad episode.

This waiting around for "the announcement" adds one more layer of sadness to an incredibly sad episode.

It also shows what is wrong with social media and how the MSM has gotten lazy to the point of believing as gospel a tweet from a "source" that is considered less than credible by those in the know.
