Re: HE Quarterfinals - #8 Maine @ #1 Lowell

Well, We have a pretty good goaltender coming back next year. I really loved his performance. Freshmen class was pretty solid too. Hopefully things will be better next year.

But I hope Lowell wins it all. I've always liked your program and im glad to see you have so much success. I'll probably head to the garden to watch you win the HE title, because why not? Good luck!

Re: HE Quarterfinals - #8 Maine @ #1 Lowell

Wow, Joey Diamond must have some time on his hands sitting around the hotel.

He wants to be sure no one breaks the record:D
My theory was he was trying to achieve getting every type of major before he 'retired' from college hockey. I can't remember ever seeing a clipping and last time I saw a kicking was when my kid was plaing mites. (12 yrs ago) Kid has talent but what a buzz kill. Score a goal and go to the box. I feel bad for his team.

OT-----any Buccigross challenge takers? I'll go......Anthoine if its Maine, Arnold if its Lowell.
Nice call

The review was to see if there was a hand pass, not goalie interference. The Maine D took out the goalie bloing a tire heading for a UML player.

Re: HE Quarterfinals - #8 Maine @ #1 Lowell

I'm still dumbfounded by the whole Diamond spectacle tonight. I mean you always sort of expect his thuggery, chirping, dirty play, etc. but even for him, it was just a complete implosion and totally selfish. I sort of felt a little bad for his teammates and the Maine fans who have had to tolerate this on a nightly basis for four years. And how he was ever a captain is beyond me. Wonder how his ride home on the bus is going?

Re: HE Quarterfinals - #8 Maine @ #1 Lowell

Great hardfought game from Maine!! Killing two majors from their "captain" (if I were TIMMAY I'd remove his captaincy after the game... for his last Hoorah lol). Great to see our heart finally payoff! Hope to see most of you at the garden and the pregame before (wherever it may be).
Great series Maine hope to see some good things from you guys next year!
GO UML!!!!

Any other coach in the country would have either thrown him off the team or read him the riot act and benched him for weeks on end long, long ago. I'd rather go 0-35 than have someone like him representing my team. What an utter and absolute embarassment for the program and just another sign that Maine continues to put winning above all else.

Two majors in one game? Is there any other way Diamond could end his career? He's a disgrace. Good riddance.

The Prestin A. Ryan* Sportsmanship Award, now and forever

*i have no clue if his middle name starts with A

Re: HE Quarterfinals - #8 Maine @ #1 Lowell

I think Ryan was still dirtier than Diamond, though Joey's hooligan behavior this weekend certainly helped narrow the gap....

Re: HE Quarterfinals - #8 Maine @ #1 Lowell

Joey Diamond. What can you say about that dbag? He cost his team the game and I love it.

Have fun in the AHL getting your arse kicked

Re: HE Quarterfinals - #8 Maine @ #1 Lowell

Congrats to Joey Diamond. With his 22 penalty minutes in the final game of his senior season, he passes Kyle Bigos in career penalty minutes, 467-457. Bigos is going to have to do something extremely selfish to get that record back.

Unfortunately, he also trails Bigos 339-294 all-time in league games, so tough break there. Maybe if he'd just stomped on a few more guys and not gotten himself suspended so often...

Off of Diamond (wouldn't want to be either of his parents right now) - kudos to the rest of the Maine team and to Ouilette who did as someone predicted in here and had an immense game. I respected the Maine team for all the hard work. 8th seed and I never felt comfortable until the last possible minute.

Thanks Les, at least one Lowell(and I know their are a few more on here) fan knows how to win. It seems most of the Lowell faithful are a pretty insecure bunch who didn't expect the 1 seed to beat an 8 seed. I don't remember MC fans being like that few years ago when they spanked Maine. The facts are pretty straight forward, Lowell is good, Maine isn't

Re: HE Quarterfinals - #8 Maine @ #1 Lowell

Good Luck to UML,they have worked hard over the last two seasons, putting together a solid TEAM and a well Coached Team...plus getting the Arena issues in order, winning will keep the fans happy and hopefully with this they Contend for years to come and make Hockey East a #1 rated Conference...now Maine needs to follow in the UML foot-steps by changing their Coach(Fire or Buy-OUT Whitehead)and going into a Rebuilding mode, they have some of the pieces in place for next season but it will take alot more...one thing for sure H.E. is no longer just BC/BU/UNH....UML-Providence and Merrimack have shown in the last two years that changing and going towards a positive hockey approach works....now IF Maine can wakeup and teams like NU/Vermont see that their Programs need fine tuning then this could well be a very interesting League with the addition of Notre Dame(2013-14)and with UConn coming aboard(2014-15/w Scholarships)...oh and I didn't factor out UMass, just waiting to see what happens from this season and beyond with a year of a new Coach(no more Toots hky).

I have been watching for somewhere around 30 yrs. Even when it was supposed to be a nobrainer watching Maine in the playoff was like watching a shark in chummed water. One newspaper article listed how many times it has taken to get by Maine. Too many and more than a quarter of a century. I would rather hold my breath than be confident. Confidence in the past has at times been painful. If Diamond hadn't [ can't think of someting derisive enough to express my disdain for him] then the result still made me nervous. Really there isn't a team in the league that can't pull it out of their a55 at some point.

You have to remember who the Maine coach is :). He didn't bench Joey after the first major and its possible it cost Maine the game. I don't see how they had any legs left in OT.

Anyway enjoy the Garden Lowell earned their way there
