Harvard @ RPI and Dartmouth @ RPI & Union (2/1, 2/2)

Re: Harvard @ RPI and Dartmouth @ RPI & Union (2/1, 2/2)

Personally, I wiould like to see Neal centering Rogic and Burgdoerfer, as I would like the initials. :D

Only you would think of that.:) Personally i like that third line. McGowan and Tinordi together can at times give other teams fits in their end-they cycle and control the puck in the corners for what seems almost endlessly and often get a good opportunity out of it. Even if they don't score-they seem to tire out a defensive pair.

Of course, most others here probably didn't know my middle initial. :p

It is amazing that SA keeps juggling lines. Early in the year I figured he would stick with the NHL line, and of course, he didn't. It doesn't surprise me that Miller was removed from Bubela and Zalewski as his strength is more defensive -- not that a defensive forward can't play with two that are more offensive.

Looks like 15 is a late scratch and replaced by 25. Not sure but think 12 is going to join 22 and 39 on the top line.

Dartmouth lines tonight against Union

Up front:

Matt Lindblad - Tyler Sikura - Eric Neiley
Dustin Walsh - Brett Patterson - Eric Robinson
Brad Schierhorn - Nick Bligh - Jack Barre
Jason Bourgea - Alex Goodship - Tim O'Brien

On defense:

Mike Keenan - Ryan Bullock
Geoff Ferguson - Taylor Boldt
Rick Pinkston - Nick Lovejoy

In goal:

Cab Morris (Charles Grant backup)

Brandon McNally is Dartmouth's most notable scratch (6 goals, 5 assists). Associate HC Peters said Wednesday McNally would likely be out.

One must game won. Now to concentrate on giving our best for all 60 minutes tomorrow. Nice to have a fast moving game with only 6 penalties called. Hopefully Union will take a bit out of DC tonight and they will be just that much more fatigued for tomorrow.

Re: Harvard @ RPI and Dartmouth @ RPI & Union (2/1, 2/2)

After watching Union/Dartmouth play to a 2-2 tie-we have to make sure we do not let tomorrow turn into a special teams game. Dartmouth's special teams are far better than what Harvard showed and it will be a long night if there are a lot of penalties called. Hoping the late finish of this game will help take a little extra out of them.

Re: Harvard @ RPI and Dartmouth @ RPI & Union (2/1, 2/2)

Yeesh. Makes me wonder if they're going to try to fit two games in, then. Either that, or three rotating teams. Of course, that's also assuming the players are still in hockey shape enough to play (or they officiate). Depending on when pep band practice ends, I'd like to see some of the alumni game.

I saw the names of the returning alums on the scoreboard tonight... there was one from Class of '51 , '60, '61, and '69 (Richie Scammell). The only goalie names I recognized were Terry Jordan's ('72) and Kevin Kurk's ('04) ... Terry might be pretty tired after all is said and done.

Re: Harvard @ RPI and Dartmouth @ RPI & Union (2/1, 2/2)

That was the weakest I've seen Harvard in years, stockpiled draft picks notwithstanding. Losing several players to academic cheating scandal has hurt them. Losing one of their better forwards tonight thinned them out even more. H was 4-2 in mid-November; they're about 1-12-1 since then. How did they beat BU three weeks ago  who knows?

DrD's comment about them running out of gas in the third period... all that and more! In the first period, H had no shots on Rogic's five minute major... I don't think they had a shot for the rest of the period. I believe they finished the game with about 12 shots. It seemed to me that most of the third was played at half speed. That's what we needed to do. We won possession/position all night long.

How about tomorrow's opponent? Dartmouth played a strong, resilent road game v Union tonight. U outshot D by about a 3-2 margin. U gave up a 2-1 lead in the third. D scored two pp goals on three chances. And we know how strong U is on the pk. D had a great tie.

We've got a big game on Saturday night. D did play an OT game in Schenectady... will they be tired? They'll be motivated... they're in a tight race for 2nd/3rd... I think they'll be pretty sharp and ready to play @ the Freakout. We'll need to have our 'A' game ready. GO GET 'EM, RED!

I felt sorry for Harvard last night. You could tell they were trying, but they had nothing. Short on players and woefully short on talent.
I thought Biega was on the ice for about 50 minutes and played well, but had very little help.
That said, I was very happy for the win and hope to continue winning for the remainder of the season.
We have a very talented team, and if we ever convert some of those scoring opportunities that we give ourselves, we will be awesome.

Apologies if someone mention this on the scores thread, but a puck hit the scoreboard last night and took out a decent size chunk from it.....so with that being said Ralph and DrDemento we are going to need you to send in a late season donation check to repair that. :)

I think that Shirley can take it out of her tip money. :D

My yearly donation to RPI depends solely on how the NYSE does. Right now it looks like they will get the benefit of a considerable winning streak.:D However, it is always earmarked as to where the money should be used. I am not sure that scoreboard repair can be listed.

She knows how to play along the (corporate) boards... why not use some of those funds?
