Harvard @ RPI 11/7/14

DrDemento

I Still bleed RPI Red
Nobody wants to start this-and I am heading out early so will do the dirty work. Harvard is not to be taken lightly. From all reports this is a talented and loaded team. They present a completely different challenge from last week. Union is not a team of singular talents, they are just a very good team all playing together. Harvard seems to have a ton of individual talented player, how well they play as a team is not yet decided. If we play like we showed we are capable of with the showing last weekend, we can give anyone in the country trouble. This is the weekend where we will find out for the rest of the season whether we have the team that can sweep Union, or the team that was swept by Bentley.

Re: Harvard @ RPI 11/7/14

I hope this team realizes that they are good enough to beat anybody when they put in the effort. And when they don't, they can be beat by anyone.
Lets work hard tonight and get a win.

LETS GO RED!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Harvard @ RPI 11/7/14

Thus far this year, the only thing consistent about RPI has been their inconsistency.

Tonight, they might play like the team that was capable of sweeping Union. Or they might play like the team that was capable of being swept by Bentley.

Or they might play like both of those teams - in the same game.

That's pretty much what they did last year in their first meeting against Harvard, taking a 3-0 lead in the first period and then allowing the Crimson to come back and salvage a 3-3 tie.

Hope that tonight we will see three periods of the team that was capable of sweeping Union.

Re: Harvard @ RPI 11/7/14

We're doomed. DrD started the thread. ;)
Had to-no one ever seems to want to start the threads when we have a real chance of losing. I suppose it is your post of previous thread starting results that does it. Only you, Fr Joe and EHF seem to start threads regardless of the competition. Hopefully this will break my streak. Jenny would have started it but she is still a bit peeved about one of my previous posts(not sure which one). We need this game and we need to come out like we want it. Harvard has a lot of quality on this team but we have had much more ice time than they have and hopefully that could work to our advantage and perhaps they are not playing as a cohesive unit yet(at least i hope not). Early in the season, but his is a very important weekend for us. Either we show quickly that we belong near the top of the ECAC(and by virtue of that, the top of the country) or we show that last weekend was just an emotional weekend sweep and nothing else.

I had every intention of starting the thread to keep my streak alive, but I guess I slept a little too late.
I have every confidence that DrD picked a great game to start a thread. We win this one going away.

Yes. Someone has to go into the corners and come up with the puck. ;) DrD's Rx for tonight: Beat Harvard.

Re: Harvard @ RPI 11/7/14

Won't that be tomorrow? Or is Dartmouth called the Big Green because they are inexperienced? ;)

You are correct that it is tomorrow. So, you won't see a green jersey on the ice. Congratulations, you passed. :D

Also, you posted this in the main RPI thread....
BTW, I am red-green collarblind.

It's a good thing there won't be any dogs on the ice. You wouldn't be able to see their collars anyway. ;)

We were heading out for a few hours and i just wanted to get this thing going. We need to have a successful outing to show everyone(including ourselves) that last weekend was the way we are going to play for the remainder of this season. Instead of us trying to figure out how to play against other teams, let them look at tapes of that first period on Friday and try to figure out how to play against us. My concern about special teams play was addressed pretty well against Union but still feel that is going to be the most important part of our games this weekend again. I hope i don't even notice the officials tonight.

Doc I have no problem with you starting the thread, but if we win, you better start it again tomorrow.

Jen will have to make sure i wake up early to do it if I am to be the starter. This could be a very late night for us as we have to be at one of the local hospitals much later this evening. Just looked over the Harvard roster-some real size on the list. Both heights and weights. Looking forward to an RPI team that should be confident after the Union weekend.

Are you going to be in Princeton this January?
