Harvard Crimson 2018-2019 All Things Bright and Beautiful

Re: Harvard Crimson 2018-2019 All Things Bright and Beautiful

Seems the Hurricanes might trade their right to sign Adam Fox to a team like the Rangers.

If the Hurricanes think they are going to get a first rounder for Adam, I think they are whistling past the graveyard. Remember the Sabres tried that with Nashville for Vesey's rights and it blew up in their faces. I'm now thinking that Adam will return to school and finish his senior season, then become an unrestricted free agent and take the best offer. It worked for Vesey and Kerfoot, it most likely will work for Fox.

Agreed. Although Adam is certainly a naturally gifted athlete, I suspect another year of growth and added strength will make him much more marketable in the NHL. At 5’ 10” 185lbs age 21, Adam is smaller and younger than the average NHL defenseman who is 6' 1 7/8" tall, weighing 209.66 lbs, and age 27.49 years old.

Hopefully Vesey, Killorn, Kerfoot and Moore will all become Adam’s role models.

If he comes back, harvard will be #1 in ECAC on paper (and most likely per media and coaches).

Re: Harvard Crimson 2018-2019 All Things Bright and Beautiful

Harvard needs Fox more than Fox needs Harvard. I can see him coming back if things don't go the way he wants with Carolina, but getting his rights traded to an appropriate team and getting signed is clearly in his best interest.

Bruins interested ??

How's their D?

The B's should probably stay away from Walter Brown-type players, since it risks the Boston hot box of parochial fumes. That sh-t'll get you the Hobey, but farm boys from Ontario expose it pretty quick in the NHL. OTOH it's very hard to get teams outside that bubble interested in local ballyhooed talent, the Tebow Effect, so maybe it's the bigger risk to draft them in the first place, rather than trade for them if your scouts really believe they can make a go of it.

What can the fryers expect from Lackey next year?

Fox, Marino, and Krusko named captains.

Hopefully this means Adam Fox is coming back.

Re: Harvard Crimson 2018-2019 All Things Bright and Beautiful

Adam Fox along with Nathan Krusko and John Marino were named captains of the 2019-2020 Harvard Men's Hockey team.

Re: Harvard Crimson 2018-2019 All Things Bright and Beautiful

Harvard has a fair amount of recruits listed on the final scouting/ranking report for the upcoming NHL draft:

- John Farinacci (35)
- Henry Thrun (39)
- Ryan Siedem (116)
- Nick Abruzzese (122)
- Derek Mullahy (29th rated North American goalie)

Sean Farrell is not draft eligible given his November birthday.

Harvard has returning D (assuming no early departures) of Marino, Fox, Rathbone, and Walsh; Incoming D definitely include Thrun, Foskey, and Siedem (I can't imagine any of them being asked to play another year of juniors) - so it will be a very competitive blue line for Harvard. The only player not drafted is Jace Foskey.

I would expect Farinacci to step right into the top 6 forwards and Abruzzese to step into the 2nd or 3rd line.
