Harvard Crimson 2015-2016 - All things Bright and Beautiful

Re: Harvard Crimson 2015-2016 - All things Bright and Beautiful

Any idea who was in on him besides harvard?

BU and BC by definition I would think. If has academics to apply to Harvard, have to think Yale was in the mix as well.

Re: Harvard Crimson 2015-2016 - All things Bright and Beautiful

Solid win vs Notre Dame. Madsen was sharp, and despite getting out of the gates a bit slow, Harvard's speed was a difference maker and Notre Dame had to take penalties to try and neutralize it.

RPI is on quite the wining streak so tonight should be a battle. RPI does take a lot of penalties and has yet to meet a PP like Harvard's so should be interesting.

Re: Harvard Crimson 2015-2016 - All things Bright and Beautiful

Honestly I'd bet money on him going to Nashville at this point. They'll have from (hopefully late April) the end of the college season until August to sign him. Even more of a reason for him to sign? He might be able to get into a game or two, and while I don't know the eligibility requirements for the NA U-23 World Cup team, have to imagine playing in the NHL one or two games could get him on that roster. That won't happen if he sits until August.

Agree. Vesey doesn't strike me as one of those "I'll go to the team that offers the most $$$". Nashville has problems scoring goals and will make him a very wealthy young man next spring. I don't see other teams getting into a bidding war for his services unless he is genuinely disappointed with Nashville's offer.

Those two penalties on Kerfoot's breakaway were a bit unusual no? How often does that get called? It completely changed the game and allowed Harvard to dictate the third period especially after Vesey's tally.

I had to re-read that in the game recap about three times. Can't say I've ever seen it, or heard of it, until now.

Harvard's power play was about the only part of their game which RPI was able to neutralize. :(

Re: Harvard Crimson 2015-2016 - All things Bright and Beautiful

Very solid win for Harvard. Way too much speed and skill for RPI. Harvard had extended possession in the RPI zone all night long.

Blackwell has been out for 2 weeks straight. I hope that this is not concussion related.

Sean Malone also did not suit up this weekend. Impressive performance considering that Harvard was missing 2 of its Top 6 forwards.

Tough road trip this coming weekend to Union and RPI.

Way too early, but Harvard ranked #2 in the nation in the PWR.

I don't want to hazard a guess but Blackwell not making this trip is not a good sign. Hoping that Sean Malone's injury or illness is not serious and that he'll be back next weekend. We've got the Mariucci's Classic over New Year's, then BU comes to town on January 7th followed by the Rivalry on Ice game against the Bobcats. We need those guys back for the second half.

On a positive note, the D is looking better and Madsen seems to have settled in as the #1 goalie.

Harvard's power play was about the only part of their game which RPI was able to neutralize. :(

That is in part due to our missing two of our top six forwards. Our second PP unit suffers a big drop off without Malone and Blackwell.

Re: Harvard Crimson 2015-2016 - All things Bright and Beautiful

I was looking at some of our recruits, and I am surprised why Chad Krys gets so much more attention than does Adam Fox.

Fox had more points in the most recent international tournament and has more goals and assists than Krys does this season.

I realize that the game is much more than pts, but what gives here?

Has anyone seen them play that can provide some more color?

No longer see Rathbone as committed to Harvard on Heisenberg's Website. Not sure if a technical glitch or if we spoke prematurely regarding his commitment.

Re: Harvard Crimson 2015-2016 - All things Bright and Beautiful

So I didn't manage to catch the most recent two games, what were the O lines without Malone and Blackwell?

Re: Harvard Crimson 2015-2016 - All things Bright and Beautiful

This was the lineup at the Notre Dame tourney

Thanks! It was kinda tough to see Moy down on the third line at the beginning of the year, but totally understandable. That second line must be so quick.

Heisenberg's site isn't always up to date and sometimes has missing recruits. Let's not panic until and if the kid tweets any changes.

Tyler is relegated to the third line in large measure because Sean Malone, when healthy, is the second line center. When Blackwell is healthy and Ryan Donato, that second line is as dangerous a second line as there is in the country. Health determines more than anything where Tyler plays. In no way is it a comment on his skill or ability. He's an ace.

You can send an email to Chris Heisenberg. I have done it often. There is a link on his page.

Re: Harvard Crimson 2015-2016 - All things Bright and Beautiful

Tough game tonight at Union. Really should have come away with two points. Sounded like we were sloppy in our own end at times and Madsen fought the puck or didn't see it half the time. Maybe Lackey deserves another look.

Kerfoot got hurt in OT and it didn't sound good. Just when we get Malone back, we lose another player. Thankfully the break is right around the corner. No Blackwell again so I'm assuming a concussion and maybe the end of his hockey playing days. Sad if it is true.

I was not able to follow the OT. Was it the shoulder for Kerfoot?
