Re: Harvard Crimson 2013-2014

IMO the best place to park is in the Harvard Business School Parking Lot. I think its $5.00 or $7.00 for non-alumni. Its basically across the street from the Stadium.

The entrance is off Batten Way and you can get there from Western Avenue or from N. Harvard Street. Just turn down Gordon Road.

Also, I would call the ticket office at the Murr Center. They may allow parking behind the Stadium for that day/evening. They are super cooperative

Harvard gets commitment from Alex Kerfoot's younger brother, Colten for 2016. Plays in the BCHL.

Has Harvard ever been this optimistic before?

Proof will be in the pudding, but Harvard seems to be getting back to the identity that made them a great program - skill, speed, and depth.

That said, you can't win without the horses, and it remains to be seen whether the skill & speed are good enough relative to the rest of college hockey. Some big names are elsewhere that would make me more confident regarding the relative comparisons.

So true. It's all well and good to trumpet leadership, excitement and passion but all that matters are the results. This is still a relatively young team doesn't match up with Union, Yale and Quinny. I'm not counting on anything more than a possible 8th place finish. And that's keeping my fingers crossed.

Teddy is right about one thing. The renovations are super. Went to the girls' game tonight. They did a fantastic job with the addition. And hey, we took away seats from the visiting side. If Cornell wants to send busloads, let them sit on our side and get abused. We're happy to oblige!

All the lost seats are on the home side.

As for the girls, two good games, beat RPI 4-1 and Union 5-3. Interesting to see them playing with a long bench for the first time in years. I am not sure if the change in style will continue. We may be back to the girls playing 6 forwards and 4 D for 90% of the ice time.

Re: Harvard Crimson 2013-2014

It’s obviously very early in the season, but I’ve gotten my season simulator fired up to see what KRACH says the final standings will be. I update every Sunday based on the week's games. Come have a look in the thread!

Re: Harvard Crimson 2013-2014

1 game, 1 tie. We're definitely on pace to shatter our 2012 record for ties :D

Re: Harvard Crimson 2013-2014

Harvard has been totally dominating RPI so far ...... 3-0 Harvard looks really good.

Re: Harvard Crimson 2013-2014

This is Harvards year for the Beanpot. BC sucks this year and wont get any better. BU is rebuilding and Northeastern is terrible and will implode. This is Harvards year.
Pear is associate head coach, not an assistant, huge plus. Quality guy and will work very well with Ted D.
Harvard could be good, goalie is key

You could be right again, Hokydad !!!!!

All the better. Again, make the Cornell fans have to sit on our side and take abuse. We should really let them have it this year.

Agree about the girls. They look good and I like that we're using everyone so far. That can only help down the stretch.

Re: Harvard Crimson 2013-2014

Watched last night's game via the RPI website. We really took it to the Engineers - how in the world did they beat Union? There were two things that stood out for me. Our speed through the neutral zone which RPI couldn't handle. And our D zone coverage especially in front of Michalek. Limiting a team to 14 shots in their own barn is an accomplishment.

We'll know more after tonight. And it's obviously early. But the signs are there for a decent year and maybe, just maybe, a sixth place finish?

Question: what has happened to Sean Malone, Colin Blackwell and Victor Newell? They are listed on the roster. Injuries? Appreciate an update.

Re: Harvard Crimson 2013-2014

My bet is that they are hurt. Have to believe Newell and Malone would be in the line-up otherwise.

I don't know about Blackwell, but his career may be over given the repeated concussions. I hope this is not the case.

The Harvard team I saw last night is the best skating crimson club I have seen in many many years. RPI couldn`t/didn`t hit them and they ate our lunch.
