HARVARD CRIMSON 2010-2011 - A New Beginning

Re: HARVARD CRIMSON 2010-2011 - A New Beginning

How are you criticizing 8-7-10 after last year? I don't think donato is a very good coach either, but you gotta know when to pick your spots.

Re: HARVARD CRIMSON 2010-2011 - A New Beginning

Wow, so H is 8-7-10. Anyone really surpirsed?

Another season of just barely above .500 and single digit wins.

Thank God for all the points earned in those Ties.

Another Beanpot let down, but a "big" win in the Consolation Game.

So are you guys still defending Donato? Why? He is a horrible coach.

what's the point of this? look at the date of the last post on this thread ..............nuff said

I thought this interesting, Harvard shares "the college hockey record for ties in a season [with] three teams (Minnesota State 2002-03, Colorado College 2008-09, and Western Michigan in 2010-11)."

Thanks for letting us all know when you've come up for air. Now go bury your head back in the sand for another 6 months....

For those of you planning to attend next week's games against Clarkson and SLU, be forewarned. Parking will be tight for the following reasons: the men's basketball team is playing Princeton and Penn at Lavietes Pavilion and both games are sold out. In addition, the women will be playing their ECAC quarterfinal series in the afternoon leading into the night games. And if that wasn't enough, the B-School has two major events planned that weekend and both are sold-out which will severely limit parking at the B-School lot. Plan ahead.

Why someone who uses the handle 'eaglehockeyrules' even cares about how many ties Harvard has is beyond me. We get it. BC has a great program. Harvard is on their way back and I think the assistant coaches are having an impact. You can see it especially with Danny Biega and young players like Blackwell and Greiner. Teddy obviously has work to do and he knows it. But he knows more about hockey than anyone posting on this board. He's lived it at levels we can only dream about. Doesn't make him a Hall of Fame coach but who is? Ask Maine fans how they feel about Tim Whitehead. They've been trying to run him out of Orono for years.

Re: HARVARD CRIMSON 2010-2011 - A New Beginning

Uh, I think he's actually a Harvard fan, no? (allegedly)...he doesn't post about BC. Anyway, Donato knowing more about hockey than anyone posting on this board doesn't really mean anything. The purpose of a message board is so people can give their thoughts on a lot of things, including the head coach. There's also quite a large area in between being a hall of fame coach and a bad coach.

If he is a Harvard fan, why use "eaglehockeyrules" as a username? Sorry, not buying it. I certainly wouldn't pass myself off as a BC fan by using "Crimsonhockeyrules" as a username and then posting on their thread. They would totally dismiss me and I'm being kind when I say that.

Re: HARVARD CRIMSON 2010-2011 - A New Beginning

your guess is as good as mine. I'm just telling you he doesn't post in BC or BU threads...seems to be only the Harvard thread. Maybe his post history backs that up. I seem to remember him saying he was a harvard fan but obviously hates donato.

Re: HARVARD CRIMSON 2010-2011 - A New Beginning

Well thank goodness for Raphael Girard. He played the game of his life tonight. There was one sequence where he made three close in stops with no help from his D. Man, he was outstanding. He had to be because we gave him no help especially in the second period. How SLU didn't score more than one goal is beyond me. Yes, we played better in the third and David Valek's goal was a thing of beauty. Top shelf wrister that had eyes. But for the most part, we really struggled to win this one. However, we'll take it given the number of ties this year. And with Clarkson and Colgate losing, we're tied for third with a chance to wrap up third by beating Clarkson tomorrow. So things are looking up.

Really bad call on Ryan Grimshaw tonight. Yes, it was a penalty but charging should have been the extent of the call. To kick him out of the game was ludicrous. Rumor at the rink has it that they will review the call and hopefully reverse his misconduct so he can play on Senior Night. That is the way it should be.

Re: HARVARD CRIMSON 2010-2011 - A New Beginning

Hah!!!!

Now I know why there have been so few posts in the 2011-2012 Harvard thread. Everyone is still posting on last years thread. The reason for this is not clear to me but at least I now know to check the current thread and this one too.
